WASHINGTON – Sophomore midfielder Lea Good’s overtime goal lifted No. 2 Lafayette (14-6, 5-1 PL) to a 2-1 victory over top-seeded American (12-8, 6-0 PL) to capture the 2024 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Complex.
Good tipped in a feed from junior midfielder Makenzie Switzer on a penalty corner nearly four minutes into the first overtime period to clinch the Leopards’ sixth Patriot League title and first since 2012. Lafayette also earns the League’s automatic berth into the 2024 NCAA DI Field Hockey Championship.
Lafayette senior midfielder Lineke Spaans earned Patriot League Tournament MVP honors. She is joined on the All-Tournament Team by teammates Switzer, Raffi Fragomeni (Jr., GK) and Lena Thedrian (So., D).
American junior midfielder Agustina Roffo scored the first goal of the game at the 50:44 mark of the fourth quarter. She earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team for the second straight season, as did teammate Tayla-Jade Weiss (Sr., M), the MVP of last season’s championship. Sophomore midfielder Sophie Willemse, who scored the Eagles’ semifinal game-winning goal, also earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Boston University’s Payton Anderson (Sr. B) and Megan Wetzel (Jr., B) and Bucknell’s Lily Neilson (Sr. F) and Kira Leclercq (Jr., D) rounded out the 11-member All-Patriot League Tournament Team.
The Leopards and head coach Jennifer Stone will learn their postseason fate on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 10 p.m. when the bracket is announced during the 2024 NCAA DI Field Hockey Tournament Selection Show, available on NCAA.com.

WASHINGTON – Sophomore midfielder Lea Good tipped in a feed from junior midfielder Makenzie Switzer on a penalty corner in No. 2 Lafayette’s 2-1 overtime victory over No. 1 American to clinch the program’s sixth League crown and first under head coach Jennifer Stone.
*Leopards’ goalkeeper Raffi Fragomeni posted six saves and allowed one goal to earn the win for Lafayette and a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
*After three scoreless quarters, American found the back of the cage first at the 50:44 mark in the fourth quarter when Roffo converted a penalty corner on assists from sophomore defender Sophie Willemse and senior defender Katelyn Bailey.
*The Leopards evened the score nearly four minutes later when senior midfielder Lineke Spaans drew a penalty stroke on a drive to the cage. Sophomore midfielder Stella Malinowski converted the stroke to tie the score at one to force overtime.
*Spaans, who claimed Patriot League Tournament MVP honors, sustained an injury on the play and only briefly returned at the beginning of the overtime period.
*Lafayette’s Thedrian recorded a game-high four shots, with one on goal, helping earn All-Tournament honors.
*American sophomore forward Jordan Reicher took three shots, one on goal, for an Eagles’ squad that outshot Lafayette 12-9
*The Leopards held the advantage on corners, taking seven to American’s three.
*American graduate student goalkeeper Bryn Underwood, the 2024 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, made three saves and allowed two goals.
