Patriot League Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week presented by Credit Union 1 (10.27.25)

American and Holy Cross receive two weekly honors apiece, Bucknell earns one

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – American and Holy Cross each captured two of the five Patriot League field hockey weekly awards when the League office announced honors, presented by Credit Union 1, on Monday. Bucknell claimed one weekly accolade.  
 
American junior Jordan Reicher was voted Patriot League Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week and fourth time this season.  She scored two goals last week, including one in the Eagles’ 3-1 win over Lehigh to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Championship.  
 
Eagles’ junior Sophie Willemse received her second straight Patriot League Field Hockey Midfielder of the Week after tallying two goals in a 5-1 win over Delaware on Sunday.  
 
Bison senior Kira Leclercq picked up her fifth Patriot League Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week of the campaign after recording two defensive saves in a 1-0 win over Davidson.   
 
Holy Cross sophomore Mia McCloskey was selected the Patriot League Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week for the second straight week. She made 22 saves in two games, leading the Crusaders to a 4-3 overtime win over Colgate.  
 
Crusaders’ freshman forward Martina di Gregorio Giralt picked up her first Patriot League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week honor after scoring the overtime game-winning goal against Colgate on Friday.
 
American senior goalkeeper Pauline Gineste and freshman defender Lotti Sume, Bucknell junior goalkeeper Sarah Althouse and junior forward Ryane Fisahn, Holy Cross junior midfielder Marissa MacLean, Lafayette junior defender Lena Thedrian and junior defender Katie Gibb received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League field hockey players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Reicher scored one goal in American’s wins at Lehigh (3-1) and at Delaware (5-1) last week to help the Eagles go 2-0 and clinch the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Championship.  
*The junior forward scored the game’s first goal in Friday’s 3-1 win over the Mountain Hawks to secure at least a share of the Patriot League regular-season title.

*Willemse scored two goals in American’s 5-1 victory over Delaware on Sunday, the second goal proving to be the game-winner.
*She helped the Eagles hold Lehigh scoreless through the first half in a 3-1 win that clinched the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Championship.

Kira Leclercq, Bucknell, Sr., Defender, Berlin, Germany/ Vicco von Bülow Gymnasium Stahnsdorf
*Leclercq led a Bison defense that recorded two shutouts in wins against Lock Haven (4-0) and Davidson (1-0).
*She posted two defensive saves in a 1-0 win over Davidson and is second in the Patriot League with six defensive saves this season.
 
Patriot League Credit Union 1 Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week
Mia McCloskey, Holy Cross, So., Goalkeeper, Villanova, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur
*McCloskey posted an .815 save percentage with 22 saves in two games to help Holy Cross split its two-game week, including a 4-3 overtime win over Colgate.
*She made eight stops in a 4-3 overtime win over Colgate, and posted 14 saves in a 2-0 loss against Maine on Sunday.

Martina di Gregorio Giralt, Holy Cross, Fr., Forward, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Santa Hilda
*Di Gregorio Giralt scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Holy Cross to a 4-3 victory over Colgate on Friday.
*The freshman forward played 46 minutes off the bench against the Raiders and 19 minutes in a 2-0 loss vs. Maine on Sunday.

Pauline Gineste, American, Sr., Goalkeeper, Charlottesville, Va./The Covenant School
*Gineste recorded a .714 save percentage and had a 1.5 goals-against average (GAA) to help American to a 2-0 week. She posted four saves in a 3-1 win over Lehigh and stopped a penalty stroke in a 5-1 win at Delaware.
 
Lotti Sume, American, Fr., Defender, Hamburg, Germany/Gymnasium Oberalster
*Sume recorded one goal and two assists in American’s 5-1 victory at Delaware on Sunday. She was instrumental in American’s defensive unit limiting Lehigh and the Blue Hens to one goal apiece during the Eagles’ 2-0 week.
 
Sarah Althouse, Bucknell, Jr., Goalkeeper, Reading, Pa./Muhlenburg
*Althouse recorded a pair of shutouts in Bucknell’s wins over Lock Haven (4-0) and Davidson (1-0). She posted six saves in two games, including five saves in 60 minutes against the Wildcats.

*Fisahn scored the game-winning goal in Bucknell’s 1-0 victory over Davidson on Sunday.
