BETHLEHEM, Pa. — No. 2 Lehigh and No. 6 Lafayette advanced to the 2025 Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Men’s Soccer Championship Game after semifinal wins on Tuesday night.
No. 6 Lafayette earned another road upset, defeating top-seeded American, 3-2, in overtime after sophomore forward Samir Dishnica converted a penalty kick in the extra period.
No. 2 Lehigh punched its ticket to the championship game with a 1-0 win over No. 4 Boston University, as sophomore midfielder Giacomo Zizza delivered the match-winner on a curling second-half strike.
No. 6 Lafayette and No. 2 Lehigh will meet in the 2025 Patriot League Men’s Soccer Championship Game at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Ulrich Sports Complex in Bethlehem, Pa. The match will air on ESPN+.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The sixth-seeded Lafayette Leopards upset top-seeded American, 3-2, with a penalty-kick game-winner by junior midfielder Samir Dishnica.
*After a scoreless first half, the Leopards opened the scoring in the 67th minute when senior defender Nicholas Liebich headed a free kick across the box to sophomore defender Joseph Lee, who finished to give Lafayette a 1-0 lead.
*Lafayette increased its lead to 2-0 just 52 seconds later after forcing a turnover on a throw-in, as sophomore forward Nicolas Papadopoulos found Dishnica for a sliding strike to the right side of the goal.
*American cut the lead to 2-1 in the 87th minute when senior midfielder and Patriot League Midfielder of the Year Troy Elgersma converted a penalty kick.
*Elgersma converted a second penalty kick in the 89th minute, placing it in the top-left corner to tie the match at 2-2 and force overtime.
*Two minutes into overtime, Dishnica buried a penalty kick to the right side to give Lafayette a 3-2 victory.
*Lafayette senior goalkeeper Eric Axtman finished with five saves.
*The Leopards become the third No. 6 seed to advance to the Patriot League Men’s Soccer Championship Game, joining Colgate in 2017 and American in 2022.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — No. 2 Lehigh defeated No. 4 Boston University, 1-0, to clinch a spot in the 2025 Patriot League Men’s Soccer Championship Game.
*After a scoreless first half, Lehigh struck early in the second when sophomore midfielder Giacomo Zizza collected a pass from senior midfielder Jason Pynadath and curled a left-footed shot into the top-right corner.
*The Lehigh defense held strong throughout the match, including a key save by sophomore goalkeeper Anton Kinnunen in the 70th minute.
*The Mountain Hawks remained organized over the final 20 minutes to preserve the shutout and advance to the championship match.
*Kinnunen made four saves for Lehigh to earn his fifth shutout of the season.
