Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Players of the Week Announced (12.1.25)

Lehigh’s Whitlock and Loyola Maryland’s Adair collect weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh junior guard Nasir Whitlock was named Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Player of the Week when the League office announced weekly honors on Monday. Loyola Maryland freshman forward Emmett Adair earned rookie of the week honors.
 
Whitlock claimed Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the first time after averaging 23.0 points on 50 percent shooting (22-of-44) in three games last week. He scored a career-high 31 points against Texas State, making a shot at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime in the Mountain Hawks’ 78—74 win.  
 
Adair captured his first Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week, averaging 19.5 points on 62.5 percent (15-of-24) shooting, including a career-high 29-point performance in a 95-84 win over Coppin State on Sunday.
 
Army West Point junior guard Ryan Curry, Boston University junior guard Michael McNair, Colgate junior guard Jalen Cox, Loyola Maryland junior guard Jacob Theodosiou and Navy senior guard Austin Benigni earned honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s men’s basketball athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Whitlock averaged 23.0 points, shooting 50 percent (22-of-44) from the field and 44 percent (8-of-18) from long distance in three games last week.
*The junior guard scored a career-high 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range in the Mountain Hawks’ 78-74 overtime win against Texas State.
*He scored 21 points in a 72-70 loss against UC Santa Barbara after finishing with 17 points and eight rebounds in a loss at Marist.

*Adair averaged 19.5 points on 62.5 percent (15-of-24) shooting from the field, including 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from beyond the arc, and 7.0 rebounds to help the Greyhounds go 2-0 last week.
*The freshman forward scored a career-high 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting and grabbed seven boards in Loyola Maryland’s 95-84 win over Coppin State on Sunday.
*He scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds in 19 minutes in the Greyhounds’ 101-51 win over Washington College (Md.).
 
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Ryan Curry, Army West Point, Jr., G, Montgomery, N.J./Montgomery
*Curry averaged 16.7 points, 4.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game to help Army West Point go 2-1 last week, with wins over FDU (81-73) and Manhattan (81-78). The junior guard scored a season-high 26 points and added eight rebounds and seven assists in the Black Knights’ win over the Jaspers.
 
Michael McNair, Boston University, Jr., G, Temecula, Calif./Linfield Christian
*McNair averaged 23.0 points, shooting 66.7 percent (16-of-24) from the field and 62.5 percent (10-of-16) from 3-point range in losses at Penn State and Northern Kentucky. He scored a career-high 28 points, hitting 7-of-11 from beyond the arc, and grabbed five rebounds in a 96-87 loss against the Nittany Lions. He scored 18 points in a loss to the Norse.
 
Jalen Cox, Colgate, Jr., G, Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola
*Cox averaged 12.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals to help Colgate go 3-0 at the Northern Classic in Laval, Quebec. The reigning Patriot League Player of the Week tallied 17 points and seven assists in a 69-67 win over UAlbany.
 
Jacob Theodosiou, Loyola Maryland, Jr., G, Waterloo, Ontario/Western Reserve Academy
*Theodosiou averaged 19.0 points, 8.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds to help Loyola Maryland go 2-0 last week. He shot 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from the floor. The junior guard scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half and dished out 10 assists for his first collegiate double-double in the Greyhounds’ 95-84 win over Coppin State on Sunday.
 
Austin Benigni, Navy, Sr., G, The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands Christian Academy
*Benigni averaged 20.3 points, 3.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds at the three-game Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic. The senior guard finished with 12 points and six assists in an 84-51 win over Gardner-Webb. He scored 25 points in a loss vs. UNCW and added 24 points in a loss against Southeastern Louisiana.
