BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Lafayette, Bucknell and Colgate each earned a Patriot League softball weekly award when the League office announced honors on Monday.
Lafayette senior outfielder Mary Grace O’Neill was named the Patriot League Player of the Week after batting a team-high .529 with nine hits in Lafayette’s six games.
Bucknell senior pitcher Madison Roukey earned Patriot League Pitcher of the Week after recording a 0.42 ERA and 11 strikeouts in two complete game efforts.
Colgate first-year outfielder Lily Haluska Danika was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, hitting .500 with a perfect field percentage for the Raiders.
Colgate senior catcher Quinn Livesay and junior pitcher Maya Servedio, Lehigh senior infielder Julia Mrochko and first-year infielder Kelly Fricker earned honorable mentions for their performances last week.
The Patriot League softball players of the week are selected in a vote by each school’s head softball coach, who is not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.
Softball Player of the Week
Mary Grace O’Neill, Lafayette, Sr., OF, Pleasantville, N.Y./ Pleasantville
*O’Neill had a .529 batting average across the Leopards’ six game, collecting nine hits including a triple and a pair of doubles.
*In three games against Iowa, O’Neill went 7-for-11 with a triple and an RBI.
*O'Neill leads the team with a .500 average through the Leopards' eight games, having started each game.
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Madison Roukey, Bucknell, Sr., P, Hudson, Ohio/ Hudson
*Roukey recorded a 0.42 ERA and 11 strikeouts across 16.2 innings pitched and two complete games in the Bison’s two games against Delaware State.
*The senior pitched a complete game in Bucknell’s 5-0 win Delaware State, tallying four strikeouts and not allowing a walk.
*Roukey threw 9.2 innings in game one against the Hornets, striking out seven only giving up five hits.
Softball Rookie of the Week
Lily Haluska, Colgate, Fy., OF, Ballston Lake, N.Y./ Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake
*Haluska hit .500 with a .722 on-base and a .800 slugging percentage, leading Colgate to a 3-2 record at the Sparkle City Classic.
*The first-year added four RBIs, recorded her first two multi-RBI games and scored two runs.
*The outfielder contributed three putouts with a perfect fielding percentage in the outfield.
Honorable Mentions
Quinn Livesay, Colgate, Sr., C, Long Beach, Calif./ Valley Christian
Livesay hit .333 with a .733 slugging and a .437 on-base percentage as Colgate went 3-2 at the Sparkle City Invite. The senior recorded homeruns in back-to-back games and added six runs and three RBIs. Defensively, Livesay tallied 33 putouts and three assists with a perfect fielding percentage and two runners caught stealing.
Julia Mrochko, Lehigh, Sr., INF, Drums, Pa./ Hazelton Area
Mrochko batted .364 with three runs scored across five games at the Charlotte Invitational. The senior went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a three-run home run in Lehigh's 11-3 five-inning win over defending America East champ UAlbany.
Maya Servedio, Colgate, Jr., P, Yorktown, N.Y./ Yorktown
Servedio earned all three of Colgate’s win recording a 2.97 ERA and 15 strikeouts at the Sparke City Invite. The pitcher struck out a career-high six batters against NC A&T and allowed only one run in six innings against Wofford.
Kelly Fricker, Lehigh, Fy., INF, West Chester, Pa./ Bayard Rustin
Fricker recorded five hits and four runs scored in five games at the Charlotte Invitational, leading Lehigh in both categories. The first-year leads Lehigh in hits, runs scored and doubles through the Mountain Hawks' first 10 games.
