Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Notebook (3.21.25)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – All nine Patriot League men’s lacrosse teams will be in action on Saturday with five games on ESPN+.

A pair of nationally-ranked games begin at noon as No. 5/3 Army West Point welcomes No. 19 Boston University, while No. 18 Colgate travels to No. 10 Syracuse. Bucknell hosts Lehigh and Navy takes on Holy Cross on the road.

This Week in Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse
At Navy 8, Le Moyne 5 (BOX SCORE): The Navy men's lacrosse team (5-3) used the ride to near perfection in the second half of its 8-5 victory over LeMoyne on Tuesday evening at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Tied 4-4 at the half, the Mids held Le Moyne without a goal from 1:07 in the 2nd quarter until 1:38 remaining in the contest (29:29). The Dolphins failed to clear the ball on eight occasions, including a 5-for-11 third quarter.

PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S LACROSSE WEEKLY AWARDS (WEEK 6)
Army West Point, Boston University, Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh split the five Patriot League men’s lacrosse weekly awards when the League office announced the honors on Monday.

For the second straight week, Boston University senior Will Barnes was tabbed as the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week and Lehigh’s Sean Dow collected Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week honors. Army West Point senior AJ Pilate garnered Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this year, Bucknell’s junior Michael Meyer earned Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and Lafayette freshman attack Joshua Heaney was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

PATRIOT LEAGUE ANNOUNCES MEN’S LACROSSE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (3.17.25)

PATRIOT LEAGUERS AMONG NCAA DIVISION NATIONAL RANKINGS (AS OF MARCH 21)
A trio of Patriot League men’s lacrosse student-athletes rank first in NCAA Division I in their respective categories; Army West Point junior Sean Byrne in save percentage (0.732) and goals-against average (4.24) as well as senior Christian Fournier in caused turnovers per game (3.17). Lafayette senior attack Riley Sullivan leads the nation in points per game (6.86) and assists per game (3.86).

Bucknell senior attack Connor Davis stands second in the nation in goals per game (4.14) and Lehigh junior defender Richard Checo is second in caused turnovers per game (3.00). Black Knights’ senior attack Jack Eicher ranks fourth in assists per game (3.14).

As a team, Army West Point leads NCAA Division I in scoring defense (4.67), scoring margin (10.00) and assists per game (10.50), while ranking third in clearing percentage (0.908) and fourth in caused turnovers per game (11.50).

COLETTI CLIMBS PATRIOT LEAGUE RECORD BOOK IN TWO STATISTICAL CATEGORIES
Army West Point senior faceoff specialist Will Coletti is the second player in Patriot League history to record 400-plus career groundballs, as he holds steady at second with 402 behind Lehigh’s Mike Sisselberger (493, 2020-23).
Additionally, the Monrovia, Md. is the third player in Patriot League history to win 700-plus career faceoffs as he remains third with 703, trailing Loyola Maryland’s Graham Savio (709, 2014-17) and Sisselberger (742, 2020-23).

DAVIS CONTINUES TO RISE ON PATRIOT LEAGUE ALL-TIME GOALS LIST
Bucknell senior attack Connor Davis moved to No. 8 in Patriot League history with 137 career goals after finding the back of the net three times in an upset win over Colgate last weekend. The Bethesda, Md. native trails Will Sands (141, 2015-18) by five goals for the school record as he ranks third among NCAA Division I active leaders.

LaCOMBE MOVES INTO PATRIOT LEAGUE’S TOP 10 FOR MOST CAREER SAVES
Following an eight-save performance in Colgate’s 18-17 loss to Bucknell last Saturday, Raiders’ senior goalkeeper Matt LaCombe remained at No. 10 in the Patriot League’s record book with 586 career saves and counting. The Manlius, N.Y. native ranks fourth among NCAA Division I active career leaders.

Army West Point led the way with three student-athletes on the 2025 USA Lacrosse Division I Men’s Preseason All-American teams, while Colgate, Lehigh, and Navy rounded out the selections with one each.
Black Knights’ junior attack and 2025 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Evan Plunkett was the lone player named to the first team, while teammate and senior faceoff specialist Will Coletti, was placed on the second team. Colgate senior long stick midfielder Max Yates and Lehigh junior defender Richard Checo received third-team laurels. Army West Point senior attack Jackson Eicher and Navy sophomore faceoff specialist Zach Hayashi were honorable mentions.

Seven Patriot League men’s lacrosse players collected 2025 Nike Lacrosse Preseason Men’s DI All-America honors. Plunkett and Coletti received First Team All-America accolades, while teammate AJ Pilate earned a spot on the second team. Yates garnered third-team honors from the second publication of the preseason, while Hayashi, Checo, and Colgate’s Hunter Drouin received honorable mentions.

PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S LACROSSE ON CBS SPORTS NETWORK
The Patriot League and CBS Sports announced their 2025 spring television schedule on CBS Sports Network, which features eight men’s lacrosse games.
For the 16th season, CBS Sports Network will be the home of the 2025 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship semifinals and championship game. Coverage of the two semifinal matchups begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 2. The League championship game will air at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 4.
