HAMILTON, N.Y. — Top-seeded Army West Point and No. 2 Boston University clinched their spots in the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Championship presented by Credit Union 1 with wins on Saturday.
The Black Knights defeated No. 4 Lehigh, 4-0, capturing the doubles point behind a 6-4 win by Jenna Sabile and Julia Kelly at No. 2 doubles. Army West Point carried the momentum into singles play, earning three straight-set victories on courts two, four and five.
Sabile clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles as the Black Knights advance to the championship match looking to win their first title since 2022.
The Terriers struck first in doubles with a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Navy responded with a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, but Madison Liu and Blanka DeMicheli rallied from a 4-1 deficit to win 7-5 at No. 2 doubles, securing the point for Boston University.
In singles, the Terriers earned three straight-set victories, clinched by Rhea Rai’s 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles to help Boston University return to the championship match for the second consecutive season.
