Patriot League Announces 2025 Women’s Tennis Postseason Accolades (5.2.25)

Navy claimed two major awards, while Army West Point and Boston University earned one each

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Navy received two of the four 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis major awards, while Army West Point and Boston University claimed one apiece, as the League office announced the All-Patriot League teams and major awards on Friday.
 
Navy senior Emily Tannenbaum was named the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Player of the Year after finishing with an 18-4 record and a 7-1 mark at No. 1 singles in League play, helping Navy earn the No. 3 seed in the Patriot League Championship.
 
Tannenbaum and sophomore teammate Olivia Fermo were named the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Year. The duo posted a 6-1 record at No. 1 doubles against League opponents and a 10-2 record overall.
 
Boston University freshman Gabriella Mikaul was selected as the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Year. She led the Terriers at No. 2 singles with a 7-1 League record and went 8-2 at No. 1 doubles during the season.
 
Army West Point head coach Paul Peck was named the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year after guiding the Black Knights to a perfect 8-0 record in League play and the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Women’s Tennis Championship.
 
Seven of the League’s nine teams were represented on the All-League teams. Army West Point led the way with four student-athletes honored, followed by Boston University with three and Bucknell with two. Colgate, Lehigh, Lafayette and Navy each had one selection.
 
The major awards and All-League teams were voted on by the League’s nine head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their student-athletes or themselves.
 
2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Player of the Year
Emily Tannenbaum, Navy, Sr., Commack, N.Y./Commack

*Tannenbaum went 18-4 in singles, including a 7-1 mark at No. 1 singles in League play.
*The senior posted a 13-5 record at No. 1 doubles with Olivia Fermo.
*Tannenbaum was named Patriot League Player of the Week four times in 2025, bringing her career total to seven — a League record since the award began in 2018.

*The duo posted a 10-2 overall record in dual matches, including a 6-1 mark at No. 1 doubles in League play.
*Tannenbaum and Fermo recorded notable wins over Middle Tennessee, Richmond, Air Force and League champion Boston University.
 
2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Year
Gabriella Mikaul, Boston University, Fr., Manalapan, N.J./Laurel Springs School

*Mikaul went 7-1 at No. 2 singles and 8-2 at No. 1 doubles during the regular season.
*The freshman was named the 2025 Patriot League Championship MVP after going 4-1 and leading the Terriers to their seventh League title.
 
2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year
Paul Peck, Army West Point

*Peck guided Army West Point to an 8-0 League record and the No. 1 seed for the first time since 2018.
*Peck earned his 16th Patriot League Coach of the Year honor, his first since 2022.
