LEWISBURG, Pa. – No. 2 Navy upset top-seeded Boston University, 4-2, to claim the 2026 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Championship. The Mids have now won two titles in three years.

Navy secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 doubles from Peyton Amspacher-Philemon and Anna Jordaan, 6-1, and at No. 3 doubles from Grace Li and Mackenzie Lee, 6-3. 

In singles, Boston University’s Gabriella Mikaul earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles to even the match at 1-1 before Peyton Amspacher-Philemon put Navy back in front with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win at No. 5 singles. The match was tied again at 2-2 following a 7-5, 6-4 victory by Boston University’s Ellie Gyuro at No. 3 singles.

Navy took control from there, as Anna Wiskowski earned a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 6 singles to give the Mids a 3-2 lead before Nicole Fu clinched the championship with a 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (2) victory at No. 2 singles.

Fu was named the 2026 John "Pat" Rooney Award winner, presented to the Patriot League Championship MVP. The honor is selected by the winning team’s head coach following the title match. She went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and clinched the championship match with her victory.

Navy earns the League’s automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship. The full bracket will be announced on NCAA.com.
