Navy Women's Tennis to Play UCF in Raleigh for First Round of NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament

The Mids and Knights Will Open NCAA Play on May 1 at 2:00 p.m. on the Campus of N.C. State

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Surging its way to the 2026 Patriot League title, the Navy women's tennis team will play No. 21-ranked UCF this weekend in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Tournament, it was announced Monday during the NCAA's Selection Show.
 
The match between the Midshipmen (23-5), winners of the Patriot League Tournament, and the Knights (20-4), runner-ups at the Big 12 Tournament, will be played at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.
 
The other first round match in Raleigh features No. 8 national seed N.C. State (22-7) playing Morgan State (13-7) at 5:00 p.m. The winners of those two matches will play Saturday, May 2 at 3:00 p.m. in the second round.
 
Navy is making its second appearance in the NCAA Tournament, just 17 years removed from becoming a varsity program, after capturing the 2026 Patriot League Championship on April 19 using wins over Colgate, rival Army and top-seeded Boston University in consecutive days.
 
This will mark the first all-time meeting between Navy and UCF in women's tennis.
