BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Berths and seeding for the upcoming 2026 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship are up for grabs on Friday night as three games are featured on ESPN+, while one matchup is on CBS Sports Network.
Bucknell (8-5, 4-4 PL) opens the final day of the regular season at 3 p.m. as the Bison battle UMBC at a neutral site.
At 6 p.m., Boston University (7-5, 5-2 PL) travels to Worcester for a Turnpike Trophy showdown against Holy Cross (6-7, 2-5 PL), while Colgate (5-7, 4-3 PL) makes its way to Michie Stadium to take on red-hot Army West Point (10-3, 5-2 PL), as the Black Knights are riding a four-game win streak.
Loyola Maryland (8-5, 5-2 PL) heads to Navy (7-6, 3-4 PL) at 7 p.m. with the Midshipmen fighting to clinch a spot in the six-team championship field.
Lehigh (6-7, 3-4 PL) and Lafayette (5-8, 1-6 PL) renew The Rivalry at Fisher Stadium as the Mountain Hawks and Leopards face off at 7:30 p.m.

Four Teams Clinch Spots in 2026 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship
Army West Point, Boston University, Colgate and Loyola Maryland have clinched their spots in the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship, beginning Tuesday, April 28, with first-round action.
The Black Knights are back in the postseason for a Patriot League-record 19th time, Boston University makes its ninth appearance overall and sixth straight, defending champion Colgate looks to become the League’s first repeat winner since Loyola Maryland (2016-18), while the Greyhounds return to the tournament for the first time since 2024.
All six seeds are up for grabs, including the top seed and hosting rights for the semifinals (Friday, May 1) and championship game (Sunday, May 3), while Bucknell, Lehigh and Navy battle for the final two postseason spots.

Two Patriot Leaguers Named to USILA Men’s Lacrosse Team of the Week – Week of April 20
Boston University graduate student goalkeeper Michael Allieri and Bucknell senior attack Owen Kovacs were both selected to the USILA’s Division I Men's Lacrosse Team of the Week on April 20.
Allieri was selected for the second straight week following his 12-save performance in the Terriers’ 13-2 win over Lafayette, while Kovacs collected the honors following a career-high seven points on five goals and two assists in a 15-13 win over Holy Cross.

Army West Point’s Byrne & Plunkett Named to 2026 Tewaaraton Award 25 Nominees List
Army West Point senior goalkeeper Sean Byrne and senior midfielder Evan Plunkett were named to the final list of 25 nominees for the Tewaaraton Award, when the organization made the announcement on April 18.
Five men’s finalists will be selected from the 25 nominees, to be announced May 7 at the conclusion of the regular season. They will be honored on May 28 at the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, presented by Stifel, at the Andrew W Mellon Auditorium, in Washington D.C.

Army West Point’s Evan Plunkett Selected Fourth Overall in 2026 Premier Lacrosse League College Draft
Army West Point senior midfielder Evan Plunkett was selected fourth overall in the first round of the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) College Draft on Tuesday by the Denver Outlaws.
Plunkett is the fifth Black Knight to get the call during the PLL draft since its debut in 2019.

Navy’s Offense Surging Behind Alec Gregorek
Navy junior attack Alec Gregorek is fueling one of the top offenses as the Midshipmen lead the Patriot League in goals (168) and goals per game (12.92), which rank 13th and 17th, respectively, in NCAA Division I.
Individually, Gregorek has scored 35 goals through 13 games, which ranks fourth in the Patriot League and tied for 14th nationally.

Six Patriot League men’s lacrosse players were listed as 2026 Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-Americans, led by Army West Point senior midfielder Evan Plunkett on the First Team and senior goalkeeper Sean Byrne on the Third Team.

A trio of Patriot League men’s lacrosse student-athletes was named to
Inside Lacrosse’s Freshman Impact Rankings, led by Lehigh first-year attack Finn Morgan at No. 6. Morgan currently ranks second in the Patriot League in goals (41) and goals per game (3.15), tied for fifth in points (51) and points per game (3.92).
Boston University freshman midfielder Peyton Forte was ranked 14th with 32 points on 23 goals and nine assists.
Holy Cross freshman faceoff specialist Shane McDonnell received honorable mention as he ranks tied for first in the Patriot League in faceoff win percentage (.594).

Boston University’s Shannehan Leads NCAA DI in Points Per Game; Ranks Eighth in Assists Per Game
Boston University sophomore attack Timothy Shannehan continues to lead the nation with 5.33 points per game and is eighth with 2.58 assists per game, both of which lead the Patriot League. Shannehan’s 64 points, on 31 goals and 31 assists, are fourth in NCAA Division I, highlighted by his 11-point performance, which included a career-high six assists, against Siena on Feb. 6.
Headed into the final weekend of the regular season, the Fairfield, Conn. native is the only player in NCAA Division I with 30+ goals and 30+ assists.
Five Patriot Leaguers Rank Top 26 in NCAA DI for Caused Turnovers Per Game
Five Patriot League players rank among NCAA DI’s top-26 in caused turnovers per game, with Lehigh senior defender Richard Checo in third (2.33), while Boston University senior defender Connor Kehm (2.27) and junior defender Logan Styles (2.17) are tied for 11th. Holy Cross’ Michael Rincon (2.00) is tied for 19th and Lafayette freshman Noah Blinkoff (1.82) is 26th.
Four Patriot Leaguers Rank Top 30 in NCAA DI in Faceoff Win Percentage
At the faceoff ‘X’, the Patriot League features four specialists who rank in the top-30 for win percentage, led by Boston University sophomore Madden Murphy in 17th at .594. Holy Cross freshman Shane McDonnell (.594) ranks 19th, Lafayette junior Nick Faccone (.576) is 26th and Navy senior Colin Shadowens (.558) sits in 29th.

Army West Point senior Sean Byrne is among the nation’s best goalkeepers as he ranks third in save percentage (.596) and seventh in goals-against average (8.69), while leading the Patriot League in both categories.
Boston University’s Defensive Unit Among the Nation’s Best
Boston University’s defense group has led the Terriers to a 7-5 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the Patriot League as they lead NCAA Division I in opponent clear percentage (.727), while ranking second in ground balls per game (37.75), caused turnovers per game (12.50) and total caused turnovers (150).

Lehigh’s Checo Breaks NCAA Division I Career Caused Turnovers Record
On Saturday, Feb. 21, Lehigh’s Richard Checo made history as the senior defender broke the NCAA Division I career record for caused turnovers. The Oakton, Va. native surpassed Lehigh’s Craig Chick (2016-19) and now has 180 career caused turnovers across 59 games.
Checo continues to lead the Patriot League in caused turnovers (33) and caused turnovers per game (2.54), while ranking third in both categories nationally.

Patriot League Announces 11-Game Spring Schedule on CBS Sports Network (1.15.26)
The final Patriot League men’s lacrosse game of the regular season on CBS Sports Network is set for Friday night as Loyola Maryland hosts Navy at 7 p.m. with postseason implications on the line.
For the 17th season, CBS Sports Network will be the home of the 2025 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship semifinals and championship game. Coverage of the two semifinal matchups begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 1. The League championship game will air at 12 p.m. on Sunday, May 3.
