BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Top-seeded Lehigh, No. 2 Navy, No. 3 Army West Point and No. 5 Bucknell advanced to the semifinal round of the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Tennis Championship with quarterfinal victories Friday at Ulrich Tennis Courts.
No. 1 Lehigh 4, No. 9 Lafayette 0
Lehigh recorded a 4-0 sweep of Lafayette, earning the doubles point with 6-3 victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. The Mountain Hawks secured the match with three straight-set singles wins, clinched by Henry Stoller’s 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 6 singles.
No. 5 Bucknell 4, No. 4 Boston University 1
Defending champion Bucknell defeated Boston University, 4-1, after claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The Bison controlled singles play, winning three of four matches, with Brendan McDonald clinching the victory at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
No. 3 Army West Point 4, No. 6 Loyola Maryland 0
Army West Point swept Loyola Maryland, securing the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 3 and clinching it moments later with a 6-4 victory at No. 1. The Black Knights won three straight-set singles matches from the bottom of the lineup, with Jack Hanna sealing the match at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
No. 2 Navy 4, No. 7 Colgate 0
Navy posted a 4-0 win over Colgate, clinching the doubles point with a 7-5 victory at No. 1. The Midshipmen followed with three straight-sets singles wins, as victories at No. 4 and No. 6 set the stage for Herrick Legaspi’s clinching 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.
The championship continues Saturday with No. 1 Lehigh facing No. 5 Bucknell at 11 a.m., followed by No. 2 Navy against No. 3 Army West Point at 3 p.m. Due to forecasted inclement weather, the semifinal round of the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Tennis Championship will be moved indoors and played at the Lewis Tennis Center.
