Top-Seeded Lehigh, No. 2 Navy To Meet in 2026 Patriot League Men’s Tennis Championship (4.25.26)

Mountain Hawks reach championship match for the first time since 2013, Navy earns 14th consecutive championship appearance

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Top-seeded Lehigh and No. 2 Navy clinched their spots in the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Tennis Championship match with semifinal wins Saturday.

Lehigh defeated defending champion No. 5 Bucknell, 4-2, clinching the doubles point at No. 2 as Alex Van Lumich and Sean Jaeger earned a 7-5 victory.

Bucknell cut the deficit to 3-2 with singles wins from Amar Tahirovic at No. 1, finishing his career with a program-record 113 singles victories, and Liam Kilmer at No. 4.

Ofer Hacohen sealed the match for Lehigh with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles, sending the Mountain Hawks to the championship match for the first time since 2013.

Navy advanced to the championship for the 14th consecutive season with a 4-0 victory over No. 3 Army West Point.

The Midshipmen secured the doubles point with 6-1 wins at No. 1 and No. 3, clinched by Jake Young and Lachlan Buckingham. Navy carried the momentum into singles, earning three victories, including Tommy Kim’s 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 and Herrick Legaspi’s 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 1. Charlie Spencer clinched the match with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 victory.

No. 1 Lehigh and No. 2 Navy will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ulrich Tennis Courts for the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Tennis Championship.
