Patriot League Announces Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week (4.27.26)

Boston University, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland and Navy split final set of weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University received two of the five Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse weekly awards when the League office announced the final set of honors on Monday. Lehigh, Loyola Maryland and Navy each collected an award.

For the first time in his career, Boston University’s Tyler Fox was named the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week as the junior scored a career-high five goals in the Terriers’ 18-12 win at Holy Cross.

Terriers’ senior Connor Kehm was honored as the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after causing four turnovers and leading Boston University to a share of the Patriot League regular-season title.

Navy junior Zach Hayashi collected his second Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Week award of the season after winning 11-of-13 (.846) draws and picking up five ground balls in the Midshipmen’s one-goal loss to Loyola Maryland.

For the third time this season, Loyola Maryland’s Max Watkinson was tabbed as the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week. The senior made 16 saves, including seven in the fourth quarter, of the Greyhounds’ 13-12 win at Navy, which helped clinch a share of the Patriot League regular-season title.

Lehigh first-year attack Finn Morgan tied the Patriot League single-season record with his sixth Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week award. The Ontario native powered the Mountain Hawks to a 14-12 win at Lafayette with six points on four goals and two assists.

Honorable mentions went to Army West Point senior goalkeeper Sean Byrne, sophomore attack Brayden Fountain and sophomore defender Tommy Stines, Boston University freshman attack Peyton Forte and sophomore faceoff specialist Madden Murphy, Lehigh junior goalkeeper Kasey Heath and senior attack Andrew Kelly and Loyola Maryland junior attack Kenan Everhart.

Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Week

*Hayashi won 11-of-13 (.846) draws and picked up five ground balls in Navy’s 13-12 loss against Loyola Maryland.
*The junior ranks fifth in the Patriot League in faceoff win percentage (.549) and eighth in ground balls per game (4.29).
*The North Potomac, Md. native ranks second on Navy’s all-time faceoff wins list with 384.

Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week
Max Watkinson, Loyola Maryland, Sr., GK, Baltimore, Md./St. Paul’s School for Boys
*Watkinson made 16 saves, including seven in the fourth quarter of Loyola Maryland’s one-goal win at Navy.
*The senior stopped an Alec Gregorek’s shot with less than 10 seconds left in regulation to preserve the win.
*The Baltimore native ranks third in the Patriot League in save percentage (.528) and saves per game (12.86).

Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week

*Morgan lifted Lehigh to a 14-12 victory at rival Lafayette on Friday night with six points on four goals and two assists.
*The first-year ranks second in the Patriot League with 45 goals and fourth with 57 points.
*The Ontario native tied the Patriot League single-season record with his sixth Rookie of the Week award (Connor Davis, Bucknell – 2022).

*Byrne tallied 12 saves during 52 minutes in goal for the Black Knights in their 17-6 win over Colgate.
*The senior finished the regular season leading the Patriot League in goals-against average (8.43) and save percentage (.604) and ranked fourth saves per game (12.43).

Brayden Fountain, Army West Point, So., A, Acworth, Ga./Allatoona
*Fountain finished with a game-high four goals to lead Army West Point to a 17-6 win over Colgate, helping the Black Knights secure the No. 1 seed and a share of the regular-season title.
*The sophomore finished the regular season with 42 points on a team-high 34 goals.
*The Acwroth, Ga. native ranks tied for seventh in the Patriot League in goals and eighth in goals per game (2.43).

*Stines played a critical part of Army West Point’s defense in its 17-6 win over Colgate on Friday as he caused three turnovers and picked up two ground balls.
*The Loveland, Ohio native helps that ranks third in the nation for man-down defense (.844), seventh in scoring defense (8.64), and seventh in scoring margin (4.29).
