Navy Athletics Release
ANNAPOLIS, Md. // Winner of the 2026 Patriot League Men's Golf Championship, the Navy men's golf team is headed to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take part in the 2026 NCAA Div. I Men's Golf Regionals it was announced Wednesday afternoon on the NCAA selection show.
One of six regional sites slated for 54 holes of action on May 18-20, the Bermuda Run Country Club will serve as the host venue to the 14-team regional which includes seven conference champions and four teams ranked among the nation's top 25. The Bermuda Run regional field includes third-ranked Virginia, who is the top seed in the region, along with Ole Miss (#10), Pepperdine (#15) and Georgia Tech (#22), USC (#28), Wake Forest (#32), Mississippi State (#39), Little Rock (#47), NC State (#53), Kentucky (#59), Houston (#65), Richmond (#121), Navy (#186) and Presbyterian (#236).
The Midshipmen will be making their 13th NCAA Championship appearance, but first since 2018. Navy previously earned tournament bids in 1962, '63, '64, '67, '83, '98, '00, '01, '03, '08, '12 and '18. The Mids' best regional finish was in 1998 when they placed 19th among the 23-team field at the Melrose Golf Course in Hilton Head, S.C.

Jimmy Stobs, who led Barry University to 19 National Tournament appearances before being named Navy's head coach in the summer of 2022. "This is a tremendous opportunity to compete at the highest level, while representing the Naval Academy and the Patriot League. We are excited to be playing at the Bermuda Run Country Club and we look forward to the challenge of playing among some of the nation's best teams and individuals."
Thirteen teams and 10 individuals (not participating in the team championship) will compete at three regionals, while the other three regionals will feature 14 teams and five individuals. The low five teams and the low individual not representing one of the top-five qualifying teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championship which is slated for May 29-June 3 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. Texas will serve as the host institution.
