BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy senior Chip Deegan was named the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Year after claiming the individual title at the Patriot League Championship at West Point Golf Course in West Point, N.Y.
Deegan shot a 2-over par 212 (73-72-67) before winning a three-hole playoff against Lafayette’s Travis Robertson to claim the individual medal. The three-time Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week is ranked 335th in the nation with a 71.0 scoring average, both best marks in the League.
Loyola Maryland freshman Liam Moloney was voted Patriot League Men’s Golf Rookie of the Year, earning All-Tournament honors with a sixth-place finish at the Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship.
Navy’s coaching staff, led by head coach Jimmy Stobs, was selected Patriot League Men’s Golf Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Midshipmen to their first League title since 2018.
The Patriot League champion Mids placed two student-athletes on the All-League Team, while second place Lafayette received one All-League nod. Loyola Maryland received a League-high five All-League selections, with Lehigh (2), Bucknell (1) and Colgate (1) rounding out the 13 All-League selections.
The Patriot League major awards and All-League teams were voted on by Patriot League men’s golf head coaches, who could not vote for their student-athletes or themselves.
2026 Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Year

*Deegan earned individual medalist honors at the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship by shooting a 2-over par 212 (73-72-67) and winning a three-hole playoff against Lafayette’s Travis Robertson to lead the Midshipmen to their first League title since 2018.
*The two-time All-Patriot League selection finished the season with a League-best national ranking (No. 335) and adjusted scoring average (71.0) in 33 rounds.
*The Newport Beach, Calif. native posted one win and four top-three finishes during the 2025-26 season.
2026 Patriot League Men’s Golf Rookie of the Year
Liam Moloney, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Chester, N.Y./St. Joseph Regional
*Moloney earned All-Tournament honors at the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship, finishing sixth overall by shooting a 7-over par 217 (74-72-71).
*The Chester, N.Y. native recorded the best national ranking (681) and lowest adjusted scoring average (72.7) of all Patriot League freshmen during the 2025-26 season.
*He recorded three top-10 finishes during his rookie campaign at Loyola Maryland.
2026 Patriot League Men’s Golf Coaching Staff of the Year
Navy (Head Coach – Jimmy Stobs)
*Stobs and the Mids’ coaching staff guided Navy to its first Patriot League title since 2018, as the Mids shot a championship-best team round of 3-under par 277 on the final day to climb from fourth place after 36 holes.
*Under Stobs’ leadership, the Midshipmen improved their national ranking by 19 spots, finishing the Patriot League Championship at No. 185, while bettering their adjusted scoring average by more than three strokes.
*Navy won two tournaments, including the League championship, and recorded five top-three finishes
Six Men’s Golfers Earn All-League Honors for the Second Time
Navy’s Deegan highlights a list of six Patriot League Men’s Golfers to earn All-League honors for the second time. Three more first-team All-League honorees have previously been recognized by the League, with Lehigh’s Jake Roth, Loyola Maryland’s Eli Spaulding and Navy’s Jack Tarzy earning honors for the second time.
Second-team selections, including Bucknell’s Jack Hartman and Loyola Maryland’s Gustavo Rangel were also honored for the second time. Hartman earned Patriot League Rookie of the Year accolades in 2025.
Five All-Tournament Selections Receive All-League Recognition
Deegan and Lafayette’s Travis Robertson claimed All-Tournament medals after tying for first place at the conclusion of 54 holes. The two highlight a list of five All-Tournament selections to receive All-League accolades. Lehigh’s Ryan Cronin, who finished tied for third, and Loyola Maryland’s Spaulding and Moloney also received both honors.
