Men's At Large Academic All-District | Women's At Large Academic All-District

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- On Thursday, six Patriot League student-athletes were selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Men and Women's At-Large Teams.

Navy swimmer Ryan Bailey made the District II squad for a second-straight time on the men's side, while five women were selected to the At-Large Academic All-District Teams. MIT senior rower Veronica Toro was named to the District I squad, and American junior field hockey player Natalie Konerth was named to the District II team. Also joining Konerth on District II are Navy seniors Ellen Bradford (two-time recipient for swimming), Rebecca Greenberg (two-time recipient for rowing) and Kathleen Heinbach (two-time recipient for rowing).

The Midshipmen also had two additional student-athletes on the men's District II squad that compete in sports not sponsored by the Patriot League. Senior gymnast Connor Westrick and senior wrestler Michael Woulfe earned spots, with Woulfe collecting his second consecutive honor.

District I includes student-athletes who represent schools from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, while the District II student-athletes come from schools in Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Each of the Patriot League honorees excel in the classroom, as Bradford (Honors Systems Engineering), Greenberg (Honors Systems Engineering), Heinbach (Computer Engineering), and Konerth (Applied Mathematics) all maintain 4.00 grade-point averages, while Toro (Biological Engineering) and Bailey (Operations Research) are right behind, boasting GPAs of 3.92 and 3.97 respectively.

Bradford and Konerth each won Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards in their sport. The pair were also Academic All-League selections, as was Bailey. Patriot League rowing Academic Honors will be released this week.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

The honorees now move on to the Academic All-America ballot where first, second, and third-team selections will be announced later this month.
