BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Nine Patriot League institutions will compete for the 2026 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship title on Friday, May 15, on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. The Boston University Terriers are the two-time defending champions having captured the League title in 2024 and 2025.
The nine-team competition begins with two Second Varsity Four+ heats at 8:00 a.m. and 8:10 a.m., followed by two First Varsity Four+ heats at 8:20 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Second Varsity Eight+ heats start at 8:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m., with two First Varsity 8+ heats concluding the morning session at 9:00 a.m. and 9:10 a.m.
The Grand Final for the Varsity Four boats start at 2:20 p.m., followed by the Varsity Eight Grand Final at 2:40 p.m. For a complete schedule of events, click here.
The championship will be scored on a weighted scale, with 4.5 points for the winner of the Second Varsity Four Race, 45 points to the Varsity Four, 90 awarded to the Second Varsity Eight and 180 points for the Varsity Eight. The school accumulating the most total points in the four races will be crowned the Patriot League champion. If there is a tie for first place in the final point total, the highest-place finisher of the Varsity Eight race will be named the Patriot League champion.
The winner of the 2026 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Rowing Championship, held May 29 through May 31 on Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Ga.

2025 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship
Boston University captured its second straight and fourth Patriot League Women’s Rowing championship overall in 2025 as the Terriers won the Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four races to accumulate 289.5 points. Georgetown earned runner-up honors for the first time since joining the Patriot League in 2014, as the Hoyas captured a first-place finish in the Second Varsity 8 to total 267 points. MIT logged a third-place team finish for the second straight year after finishing with 263.5 points.
Navy finished fourth with 204 points and Bucknell totaled 193 points to place fifth. Colgate (131), Holy Cross (127.5), Lehigh (66.5) and Loyola Maryland (55.5) rounded out the nine-team championship field.
Boston University’s Varsity Eight was named the 2025 Patriot League Women's Rowing Boat of the Year. Terriers’ head coach Malcolm Doldron collected Patriot League Women's Rowing Coach of the Year honors for the second straight year.
