BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University’s First Varsity 8+ received Patriot League Boat of the Week honors, when the League office announced the final award of the season on Tuesday.

Regatta: Eastern Sprints – Lake Quinsigamond, Worcester, Mass. / 2,000 meters
*Boston University’s First Varsity 8+ recorded a fifth-place finish at the Eastern Sprints as the Terriers rowed a time of 6:20.885, placing ahead of No. 12 Rutgers. The Terriers also competed against No. 9 Brown (6:12.109), Columbia (6:15.717), No. 23 Dartmouth (6:18.263) and No. 21 Harvard-Radcliffe (6:19.993).
*The Terriers opened the day with a runner-up finish in Heat 1, clocking a time of 6:21.338 to place behind No. 9 Brown and ahead of Northeastern, Temple and Boston College.

*Colgate’s First Varsity 8+ defeated Lehigh on Saturday as the Raiders crossed the finish line with a time of 6:38.35 compared to the Mountain Hawks’ mark of 6:51.55.
MIT First Varsity 8+
Regatta: New England Rowing Championships – Lake Quinsigamond, Worcester, Mass. / 2,000 meters
*MIT won the second of three morning heats to advance to the afternoon's Grand Final. The Engineers finished in 7:10.199 to win by about length ahead of runner-up Bates (7:12.749). In the Grand Final, it was back-and-forth for most of the race with eventual runner-up Williams before MIT found the advantage to win in 6:44.602.

PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2026 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship will be held on Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., on Friday, May 15. Patriot League members Boston University, Bucknell, Colgate, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland, MIT and Navy will compete in the full-field championship, which features Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four races. The winning team receives the Patriot League's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. Boston University is the defending champion of the Patriot League. The championship will be streamed on ESPN+.
