PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Boston University Terriers women’s rowing program captured its third straight Patriot League Women’s Rowing championship on Friday, winning the First Varsity Eight+, First Varsity Four+, Second Varsity Eight+ and Second Varsity Four+ races. The Terriers recorded a League record 319.5 points at the championship, held on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
Bucknell earned runner-up team honors for the first time since 2022 as the Bison recorded 242 points following a second-place finish in the First Varsity 8+. Navy placed third in the team standings with 209 points, while MIT took fourth with 190 points.
Georgetown claimed fifth place with 183.5 points, while Holy Cross (6th – 157.5), Colgate (7th – 151.5), Lehigh (8th – 108) and Loyola Maryland (9th – 36) rounded out the nine-team championship field.
The Boston University Varsity Eight+ was named the 2026 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Boat of the Year for the third consecutive season. The Terriers were honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year for the third straight year as head coach Malcolm Doldron led his squad to their fifth Patriot League title. Boston University also won the title in 2014, 2022, 2024 and 2025.
The Terriers claimed the Patriot League’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Rowing Championship that will take place in Gainesville, Ga., on Lake Lanier Olympic Park from May 29 through May 31. Fans can watch the 2026 NCAA DI rowing selection on NCAA.com at 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 20.
