CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League placed three men’s soccer and two women’s soccer student-athletes on the 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List was it announced late last week. Army West Point senior defender Zac McGraw, Loyola senior forward Brian Saramago and senior midfielder Barry Sharifi were named to the Watch List on the men’s side, while Boston University junior forward Anna Heilferty and Colgate senior midfielder Mara Cosentino were recognized on the women’s side.
The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. The MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists are compiled by members of the United Soccer Coaches Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I All-America Committees. This year’s winners will be announced in early January at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

McGraw Named to Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List
Senior defender Zac McGraw of the Army West Point men's soccer team was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List for the second consecutive season last Thursday. As a three-time All-Patriot League First Team performer and two-time All-Atlantic Region First Team selection, McGraw was a defensive stalwart for the Black Knights in his third year and aided the team in its run in the Patriot League Tournament. His efforts on the defensive end helped the Cadets post back-to-back shutouts in the tournament for the first time in program history.

Heilferty Named to MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List
A two-time All-Conference honoree and 2018 Patriot League Tournament MVP, Boston University junior Anna Heilferty is one of 61 Division I women's soccer players named to the inaugural 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. The Falls Church, Virginia, native led BU in goals (6), assists (6) and points (18) last season. She racked up three goals and four assists during conference play and produced at least one point in six of nine Patriot League contests.

Cosentino Named To MAC Hermann Watch List
Colgate women's soccer senior Mara Cosentino has been named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, announced last Thursday by the United Soccer Coaches and Missouri Athletic Club. Cosentino garnered Patriot League Midfielder of the Year honors last season after producing 13 points on six goals and one assist. Four goals were game-winners, including the golden goal in a 2-1 victory over Navy that helped seal the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. A native of Glastonbury, Conn., Cosentino's six tallies all came in the final eight games of the regular season.

Saramago, Sharifi Selected to Men’s Soccer MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List
Loyola University Maryland seniors Brian Saramago and Barry Sharifi were included among a group of 36 NCAA Division I men's soccer players named to the 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, which was revealed by the Missouri Athletic Club and United Soccer Coaches organizations on Thursday. Saramago and Sharifi were each chosen as United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Americans last winter after helping the Greyhounds top the Patriot League regular season standings for a second-consecutive season. Loyola is one of just six schools nationally to have multiple players included on the initial watch list.
