Sixty-Three Patriot League Rowing Student-Athletes Named CRCA Scholar-Athletes (8.10.20)

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – A total of 63 Patriot League rowing student-athletes received Collegiate Rowing Coaches of American (CRCA) Scholar Athlete Awards when the organization announced its honorees.

Georgetown had a Patriot League-high 16 student-athletes named, followed by MIT with 13, Bucknell with 10 and Navy with seven. Boston University and Colgate had six student-athletes recognized apiece, while Lehigh rounded out the list with three honorees.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the spring rowing season, the requirements to be named a CRCA Scholar-Athlete were modified. Student-athletes must be in their second, third or fourth season of eligibility, must be ranked performance-wise in the top 50 percent of their team, or in the “NCAA Squad” (whichever is smaller) at the conclusion of the 2020 season. Student-athletes also must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for their career, through the fall semester or quarter for the current competition year.
