Patriot League Announces Volleyball Players of the Week (3.1.21)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate senior outside hitter Alli Lowe earned Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week while Navy middle blocker Maggie Bodman was named rookie of the week when the League office announced volleyball weekly honors on Monday.

Colgate freshman libero Taylor Cigna, Holy Cross junior outside hitter Johnna Shamley, Loyola Maryland freshman outside hitter Lauren Link and Navy junior Avery Stowell all earned honorable mentions.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alli Lowe, Colgate, Sr., OH, Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville
* Lowe led the Raiders with 27 kills and 16 digs on the weekend to go with a .357 hitting percentage.
* She added a pair of aces each day for four on the weekend.
* The senior was one dig shy (9) of a double-double on Friday before registering a season-high 14 kills on Sunday.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Maggie Bodman, Navy, Fr., MB, Northbrook, Ill./New Trier
* Bodman led Navy with a .439 hitting percentage in the team’s 2-0 weekend against Loyola Maryland.
* The freshman posted 10 kills, a .304 hitting percentage and four blocks in Navy's five-set victory at Loyola on Friday.
* She then led Navy with 12 kills, a .611 hitting percentage (12-1-18) and five blocks in Navy's five-set home-win over Loyola on Saturday.
 
 
Honorable Mentions
Taylor Cigna, Colgate, Fr., L, Glenshaw, Pa./Oakland Catholic
* In her first weekend as the libero, Cigna led the squad with 24 total digs for 4.00 digs per set in the weekend sweep over Lehigh. She added two aces on the weekend.

Johnna Shamley, Holy Cross, Jr., OH, Orlando, Fla./Olympia
* Shamley posted 26 kills and 28 digs over two matches against Lafayette to record back-to-back double-doubles. The junior posted 16 digs with 16 kills on Friday and 10 kills with 12 digs on Sunday.
* Shamley also posted two service aces over the weekend to help the Crusaders to a series sweep over the Leopards.
 
Lauren Link, Loyola Maryland, Fr., OH, Shakopee, Minn./Academy of the Holy Angels
* Link had a pair of double-doubles in her collegiate-debut weekend against Navy.
* She first had 12 kills with 16 digs on Friday night, followed by 11 kills and 11 digs on Saturday.
 
Avery Stowell, Navy, Jr., OPP, Yorba Linda, Calif./Esperanza
* Stowell shared the Navy lead with 16 kills in Friday's five-set win at Loyola, to go with 12 digs.
* She then posted 10 kills and tied her career-high with 13 digs in Navy's five-set win over Loyola on Saturday.
