Patriot League Announces Men’s Soccer Players of the Week (3.2.21)

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Navy swept the five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly awards as the League announced the first round of awards for the 2020-21 season on Tuesday.

Midshipmen freshman forward Baba Kallie was named the Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the week, senior Wyatt Millard received midfielder of the week honors, and senior Toni Adewole was named defensive player.

Senior Ian Bramblett rounded out the awards as Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.

Colgate freshman forward Aidan Davock and junior goalkeeper Nick Gerlach earned honorable mention.

Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week
Baba Kallie, Navy, Fr., F, Coatesville, Pa./Hill School
* Kallie paced Navy to the 2-1 victory over Colgate on Sunday night as he scored the game-tying goal for the Midshipmen in the 44th minute.
* After collecting the ball in the 18-yard box from teammate Wyatt Millard, Kallie turned and fired a shot toward the right post and scored his first collegiate goal to tie the game, 1-1, just before halftime.
 
Midfielder of the Week 
Wyatt Millard, Navy, Sr., M, Columbia, S.C./Cardinal Newman
* Millard recorded an assist in Navy's 2-1 victory over Colgate to start the Patriot League season this weekend.
* Trailing 1-0 in the match, Millard passed the ball into the center of the 18-yard box to an open Baba Kallie, who scored Navy's game-tying goal.

Defensive Player of the Week
Toni Adewole, Navy, Sr., D, Clarksburg, Md./Hill School
* Adewole spearheaded Navy's defensive effort on Sunday night in a 2-1 win over Colgate.
* The senior helped Navy limit the Raiders to just six total shots for the game and three shots on goal for the 90 minutes.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week 
Ian Bramblett, Navy, Sr., GK, Easley, S.C./Easley
* Bramblett recorded his second win of the season in goal for Navy in its 2-1 win over Colgate, as he recorded two saves and allowed just one goal.
* Along with making two saves against the Raiders, Bramblett cutout any dangerous crosses and set-pieces Colgate tried to swing into the 18-yard box.
* He played all 90 minutes for Navy and made his 19th-straight start for Navy, where he has posted a record of 14-4-1 during that span.
 
Honorable Mentions
Aidan Davock, Colgate, Fr., F, Medway, Mass./The Rivers School
* Davock netted his first collegiate goal in Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Navy. His goal came in the 34th minute to give the Raiders an early 1-0 lead.
 
Nick Gerlach, Colgate, Jr., GK, Arlington, Va./Gonzaga College High School
* Gerlach finished with five saves in the 2-1 loss against Navy on Sunday, including four in the first half.
