BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 1 Lafayette will play host to No. 2 American in the 2020-21 Patriot League Spring Men’s Soccer Championship game on Saturday, April 17 at 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
Lafayette defeated No. 2 Holy Cross 2-1 in the North Division, while No. 2 American earned a 3-2 win over No. 1 Loyola Maryland in the South Division on Wednesday night in the semifinal round.

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette Leopards will continue their postseason run after a 2-1 win over Holy Cross in the Patriot League North Division Semifinal.
* Lafayette senior defender Andrew Venezia gave the team an early 1-0 lead in the 20th minute with his first goal of the season.
* Leopards junior forward Max Ippolito scored the second goal of the game at the 72:38 mark on an assist from sophomore midfielder Benji Grossi.
* Holy Cross cut Lafayette’s lead to 2-1 with a penalty kick from senior midfielder Max Benford in the 74th minute.

BALTIMORE – The American Eagles collected a 3-2 road win over Loyola Maryland on Wednesday night in the Patriot League South Division Semifinal.
* American senior forward Jerry Zouantcha and junior defender Nicolas Blassou scored back-to-back goals in the first half. The goals were the first of the season for Zounatcha and Blassou.
* Zouantcha’s goal came in the 33rd minute with assists going to freshman midfielder Jason Bouregy and junior midfielder Viggo Sjoberg.
* Blassou gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 38th minute off a corner kick by Sjoberg for his second assist in the game.
* Loyola Maryland cut the 2-0 lead in half with a goal in the 50th minute when Justin Ingram was fouled in the box from behind to draw a penalty kick, marking his third goal of the season.
* David Gunter evened the score for Loyola (2-2) at the 72:29 minute mark with this second goal of the season off assists from Ingram and junior forward Kelan Swales.
* American junior forward David Coly answered in the 81st minute to give the Eagles a 3-2 lead and the eventual win.
