BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Navy sophomore Jillian Taggart earned the Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week, while Boston University senior David Bogatin was named the men's tennis player of the week when the League office announced the awards on Wednesday.
Boston University senior Lily Burchell, Colgate junior Rohan Gupta and sophomore Rebecca Wolf, Lehigh sophomore Matt Kleiman, and Loyola Maryland freshman Matt Cardano and senior Kateri Martin all received honorable mentions.
Women's Player of the Week
Jillian Taggart, Navy, So., Fair Oaks, Calif?./Bella Vista
* Taggart went a combined 4-0 for the Midshipmen this past week en route to a pair of Navy 7-0 wins.
* Against Loyola playing at No. 1 doubles with her partner Miranda Deng, the duo picked up a 7-6 (7-5) win. Then Taggart earned a straight-set win at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Loyola's Kateri Martin.
* At No. 1 doubles with Deng, the duo earned another 7-6 (7-5) win for the Midshipmen against Bucknell. Playing at No. 1 singles against the Bison's Daniela Bellina, Taggart dropped a close opening set but won the final two sets to seal the win in a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 decision.
Men's Player of the Week
David Bogatin, Boston University, Sr., Los Angeles, Calif./Weil College Prep School
* Bogatin earned a 6-0, 6-0 No. 1 singles win over Holy Cross' Matthew Slowinski this past weekend.
* The senior also collected a 6-2 doubles win with teammate Johann Sajonz over Holy Cross' Matt Fagan and John Michael McTernan on court two.

* Burchell earned a 6-0, 6-0 No. 2 singles win over Holy Cross' Katya Martin.
* The senior also collected a 6-1 doubles win with teammate Emily Kim over Holy Cross' Maddie DeNucci and Melissa Caiola on court one.
Rohan Gupta, Colgate, Jr., Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South
* In Colgate's 7-0 win over Lafayette, Gupta and Nick Potter won at No. 2 doubles, 6-4 against William Barry and Ross Coleman. In his singles match against Daniel Kramer, Gupta won in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
Rebecca Wolf, Colgate, So., Pepper Pike, Ohio/Hathaway Brown
* At No. 1 doubles, Wolf and Emily Untermeyer won 6-2 against Lafayette's Maureen McCormack and Hallie DeNardo. In No. 2 singles, she won in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 against Cecelia Lesnick.
Matt Kleiman, Lehigh, So., Rockville, Md.
* At the No. 3 spot, the sophomore defeated Bucknell's Meller in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Kleiman and Jeremy Learner also won their No. 3 doubles match with a 6-4 score.
Matt Cardano, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South H.S.
* Cardano beat La Salle's Brandon Caban, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 on Tuesday and then came back on Friday for a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Howard's Phoenix Williams. In doubles, he paired with Oliver Davey at No. 2 for a 6-4 win against La Salle's Nassim Fenjiro and Colin Lucius.
Kateri Martin, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Darien, Conn./Darien H.S.
* Martin went 3-1 at No. 1 singles during the week for the Greyhounds. She opened with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lolita Kozina of Delaware State to help Loyola to a 4-3 victory, and on Friday she defeated Howard's Yesimi Ifedeu, 6-1, 6-4. Martin also posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory on Sunday against Hartford's Chloe Certain.
