Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Players of the Week Announced (12.15.25)

Colgate’s Cox and Alekseyenko collect weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate junior guard Jalen Cox and first-year guard Andrew Alekseyenko were named Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Player and Rookie of the Week when the League office announced weekly honors on Monday.
 
Cox earned Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after posting 26 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals in an 85-77 loss against St. Bonaventure.  
 
Alekseyenko collected his third Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week award, after scoring a career-high 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting against the Bonnies.
 
Army West Point sophomore guard Jaxson Bell, Boston University sophomore forward Ben Defty, Bucknell senior guard Achile Spadone, Lafayette sophomore guard Caleb Williams and Loyola Maryland freshman guard Emmett Adair earned honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s men’s basketball athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Alekseyenko scored a career-high 25 points, shooting 10-of-16 from the floor, with three made 3-pointers, and four rebounds in an 85-77 loss vs. St. Bonaventure.
*The first-year guard scored 14 points in the first half to help the Raiders build a 13-point lead over the 10-1 Bonnies.
*He leads all League rookies and ranks seventh overall in scoring, averaging 14.9 points per game.

*Bell recorded his first collegiate double-double in Army West Point’s 63-60 victory over UMBC, posting 12 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Ben Defty, Boston University, So., F, Berlin, Germany/St. Thomas More (Conn.)
*Defty averaged 15.5 points on 60.0 percent (12-of-20) shooting and grabbed 9.0 rebounds per game in losses against Maine (69-59) and Dartmouth (77-64). He recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds against the Black Bears.
 
Achile Spadone, Bucknell, Sr., G, Geneva, Switzerland/St. Thomas More (Conn.)
*Spadone scored a game-high 14 points and added five rebounds, three assists and three steals in Bucknell’s 51-38 victory at Rider. He helped the Bison defense limit the Broncs to 38 points, the fewest allowed by the Bison since 2010.
 
Emmett Adair, Loyola Maryland, Fr., G, Sydney, Australia/NBA Global Academy
*Adair averaged 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in the Greyhounds’ games against VMI and Mount St. Mary’s last week. The Sydney, Australia native scored a team-high 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting against the Keydets on Tuesday.

*Williams scored 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from long distance in a 74-72 loss at Penn. The sophomore guard recorded his second straight 20-point game and third straight game with four or more 3-pointers.
