BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Championship will be held at Colgate's J.W. Abrahamson Tennis Courts in Hamilton, N.Y. beginning Thursday, April, 24 and concluding on Sunday, April, 27. In case of inclement weather, the championship will be moved indoors to Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, N.Y.
For the first time since 2018, the Army West Point Black Knights earned the No. 1 seed after going undefeated in Patriot League play defeating Boston University in the season finale, 4-3. No. 2 Boston University, No. 3 Navy and No. 4 Lehigh round out the top-four seeds in this year’s tournament.
The tournament starts on Thursday afternoon with a first-round matchup of No. 8 Lafayette and No. 9 Holy Cross starting at 3 p.m.
The quarterfinals start on Friday with matches beginning at 9 a.m. Top-seeded Army West Point will take on the winner of No. 8 Lafayette and No. 9 Holy Cross. No. 4 Lehigh will take on No. 5 Bucknell at 10:45 a.m., with No. 3 Navy set to battle No. 6 Loyola Maryland at 1:15 p.m. To finish off the quarterfinal day, No. 2 Boston University will play No. 7 Loyola Maryland at 3:45 p.m.
Semifinal matches will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 with the Championship match scheduled for Sunday, April 27 at noon.

The John “Pat” Rooney Award
The John "Pat" Rooney Award as the Patriot League Championship MVP is selected by the winning team’s head coach on Sunday, following the championship match. Navy’s Kate Lee claimed the 2024 award after sealing the championship for the Mids with a 6-2, 1-6, 7(8)-6(6) win at No. 4 singles to give Navy their first championship in program history.
2024 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Championship Recap
The Navy Midshipmen upset No. 1 Boston University, 4-3, to capture their first Patriot League title in program history. The Mids collected the doubles point earning 6-4 wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles. Navy increased their lead to 2-0 after a straight sets victory at No. 5 singles. The Terriers came roaring back taking the lead 3-2 after earning three consecutive singles victories.
Navy’s Sia Chandry tied the match for the Mids with a three-set comeback 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 on court three. In a three-set three-hour thriller, Navy’s Kate Lee sealed the win for the Mids besting Boston University’s Emily Zhao 6-2, 1-6, 7(8)-6(6) on court four.
2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Postseason Awards
The All-League team will consist of 12 players with six on the first team and six on the second team, voted by the women’s tennis coaches. The first team will consist of a half dozen student-athletes, regardless of singles or double status. The second team will consist of the next six overall players, regardless of singles or doubles status. Head coaches will also vote on the Player of the Year, Doubles Team of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year.
Returning All-League Players Set to Make Impact at 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Tournament
Nine All-League selections from last season return to compete in the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Tennis Tournament.
Boston University brings back reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year Uma Bakaityte. The two-time Women’s Tennis Player of the Week has led the Terriers at No. 1 singles this season.
Top-seeded Army West Point features a pair of returning All-League players Cooper Jackson and Jenna Sabile. The duo has been instrumental in the Black Knights’ undefeated run through League play.
Bucknell’s Whitney King, a First Team All-League selection, returns at No. 1 singles for the fifth-seeded Bison. King enters the tournament riding a three-match win streak.
She will face off against No. 4 seed Lehigh, which returns two Second Team All-League honorees in Hamsa Javagal and Maggie Forkner. Forkner has gone 4-0 at No. 1 singles, while Javagal is 4-2 at No. 2, helping the Mountain Hawks secure a top-four seed for the first time since 2021.
Navy’s Emily Tannenbaum, a junior and one of the League’s top performers, is back at No. 1 singles. Tannenbaum holds a perfect 6-0 League record and is 17-3 overall in the top spot.
Colgate returns sophomore and 2024 Second Team selection Sophia Montero, who played a key role in the Raiders’ 12-win season and quarterfinal appearance.
Lafayette’s Alyssa Perdomo is back at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles, as the Leopards prepare to face Holy Cross in the first round.
