Patriot League Announces Boat of the Week (4.8.25)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University’s First Varsity 8+ boat garnered Patriot League Boat of the Week when the League office announced the honor on Tuesday.

*The Terriers secured a second-place finish in the First Varsity 8+ race as BU had at least boat place ahead of Patriot League foe MIT in every race.

Battling through windy conditions which caused a major tailwind in the water, the Terriers clocked a time of 6:27.1, slightly behind the Big Green’s winning time of 6:24.1.

Lehigh First Varsity 4+
Regatta: Lehigh vs. Fairfield, Iona, Loyola Maryland – Lake Nockamixon, Quakertown, Pa. / 2,000 meters
*Lehigh’s First Varsity 4+ went 2-0 in Saturday’s tri-meet as the Mountain Hawks finished first against Fairfield and Iona with a time of 9:17.13, before defeating Loyola Maryland with a mark of 9:45.98.

Loyola Maryland First Varsity 8+
Regatta: Loyola Maryland vs. Fairfield, Iona, Lehigh – Lake Nockamixon, Quakertown, Pa. / 2,000 meters
*Loyola Maryland’s First Varsity 8+ defeated Lehigh in a head-to-head match on Saturday as the Greyhounds rowed to a time of 7:58.59. Loyola also competed in a race against Fairfield and Iona, finishing second to the Stags.

PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2025 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship will be held on Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. on Friday, May 16. Patriot League members Boston University, Bucknell, Colgate, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland, MIT and Navy will compete in the full-field championship, which features Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four races. The winning team receives the Patriot League's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. Boston University is the defending Patriot League champions.
