Patriot League Golfers of the Week Announced (4.9.25)

Navy’s Tarzy and Tang sweep weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa.Navy junior Jack Tarzy and sophomore Emma Tang were named Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week, respectively, when the League office announced honors on Wednesday.  
 
The Midshipmen’s Tarzy won his first Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week this season, shooting a 1-over par 217 (72-74-71) at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational that featured seven of the top 40 teams in NCAA DI. Tarzy finished in front of nine of the NCAA DI’s top 130 men’s golfers during the 54-hole tournament at the par-72 Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
 
Navy’s Tang earned Patriot League Women’s Golfer of the Week for the third time this season after shooting a 2-over par 218 (70-75-73) at the par-72 University of Maryland Golf Course in College Park, Md. She finished tied for seventh in a competitive field of 83 golfers.  
 
Bucknell freshman Jack Hartman and sophomore Katherine Vice, Holy Cross sophomore Alex Elia and Lehigh first-year Alana Hall and Jake Roth received honorable mentions for their performances.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Jack Tarzy, Navy, Jr., Medford, N.J./The Hun School
*Tarzy tied for 25th at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational by carding a 1-over par 217 (72-74-71) in a talented field that included seven of the top 40 teams in NCAA DI, including No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Oklahoma State and No. 9 North Carolina.
*The Medford, N.J. native tied with No. 125 Johnny Walker of Arizona and finished in front of nine more golfers ranked in the top 130.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Emma Tang, Navy, So., Chino Hills, Calif./Chino Hills
*Tang carded a 2-over par 218 (70-75-73) at the Terrapin Invitational to finish tied for seventh with three golfers, including host Maryland’s No. 113-ranked Nicha Kanpai. She recorded her third top-10 finish of the season.
*She helped the Mids tie for eighth place with Penn State and in front of Nebraska and former League rival Richmond at the par-72 University of Maryland Golf Course in College Park, Md.
 
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Jack Hartman, Bucknell, Fr., Bethesda, Md./Gonzaga
*Hartman tied for fifth by shooting a 2-under par 214 (69-69-76) out of 78 competitors at the Testudo Cup, played at the par-72 P.B. Dye Golf Club in Ijamsville, Md.
 
Katherine Vice, Bucknell, So., Glen Head, N.Y./IMG Academy (Fla.)
*Vice shot a 2-over par 146 (73-73) to finish tied for third out of 55 competitors at the YSU Spring Invitational at the par-72 Avalon Lakes Golf and Country Club in Warren, Ohio. She shot a career-best first-round score of 1-over par 73, then matched it in the second round. She led the Bison to a 20-over par finish, tying the program record for score in relation to par at a 36-hole tournament.
 
Alex Elia, Holy Cross, So., Wilton, Conn./Wilton
*Elia tied for third place out of 101 golfers at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational by shooting a 3-under par 141 (69-72) at the par-72 Northampton Country Club. The sophomore led the Crusaders to a fourth-place team finish in a field that included host Lafayette.

*Hall shot a 19-over par 232 (80-77-75) to finish tied for 29th out of 92 competitors at the Rutgers Invitational at the par-71 Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J.
 
Jake Roth, Lehigh, Jr., Rockville, Md./Bullis School
*Roth tied for 10th place out of 100 golfers at the Irish Creek Collegiate by shooting a 2-over par 142 (70-72) at The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C.
