Patriot League Announces M-F Athletic Cross Country Weekly Awards (9.3.25)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Four institutions split the Patriot League M-F Athletic Cross Country Weekly Awards as the 2025 season kicked off this past weekend.  
  
Holy Cross’ Liam Lyons earned Patriot League M-F Athletic Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors after logging a 5K time of 15:15.9 at the Suffolk Short Course Classic. The mark propelled Lyons to the individual win in the event, the first of his collegiate career. Bucknell's Shaelan McNally was named Patriot League M-F Athletic Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week after a 6K time of 21:06.3. She was the individual medalist at the Lehigh Open and defeated the second-place finisher by over 25 seconds.

Navy freshman Jack Hefty was named Patriot League M-F Athletic Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week after making his collegiate debut. The Wisconsin natives’ 8K time of 25:33.2 was good for sixth overall and helped the Mids' to a runner-up finish in the team standings. Lehigh’s Zoe Louis earned Patriot League M-F Athletic Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week honors after her mark of 21:55.2 in the 6K. She was the top first-year finisher in the event, finishing fifth overall. 

American's Carver Morgan, Bucknell’s Henry Didden, Lehigh’s Ryan Baker and Navy's Susanna Henderson and Eleanor Whisler all garnered honorable mention nods for their performance this past weekend.  
   
PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK 
Liam Lyons, Holy Cross, Sr., Irvington, N.Y./Irvington 
*Lyons won the Suffolk Short Course Classic with a 15:15.9 mark in the 5K.
*It was the first collegiate cross country win for Lyons. 
*His victory helped pace the Crusaders to a first-place team finish in the event. 
  
PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK 
Shaelan McNally, Bucknell, So., Hadden Heights, N.J./Paul VI Catholic 
*McNally won the Lehigh Open with a 6K time of 21:06.3.
*She defeated the runner-up finisher by over 25 seconds.
*The Bison logged the overall team victory in the event.

PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 
Jack Hefty, Navy, Fr., Delevan, Wisc./Whitewater 
*Hefty logged an 8K time of 25:33.2 to finish sixth overall in at the Salisbury Fall Classic.
*His top-ten finish helped the Mids take second in the team standings.
  
PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 
Zoe Louis, Lehigh, Fy., Seattle, Washington/Bishop Blanchet  
*Louis logged a mark of 21:55.2 in the 6K to finish fifth in her collegiate debut.
*Her time was the best logged by a first-year in the event and the top mark for Lehigh in the event. 
  
HONORABLE MENTION 
Carver Morgan, American, Sr., Avon, Conn./Avon  
*Morgan logged a 6K time of 18:16.6 at the Richmond Spider Alumni Invitational.
 
 Henry Didden, Bucknell, Sr., Woodland Hills, Calif./Viewpoint  
*Didden finished fourth at the Lehigh Open with a career-best time of 18:18.5 in the 6K.
 
Ryan Baker, Lehigh, Jr., Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen   
*Baker logged a mark of 18:19.7 in the 6K to finish fifth at the Lehigh Open.
 
Susanna Henderson, Navy, Jr., Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland 
*Henderson finished as the runner-up with a 6K time of 21:45.0 at the Salisbury Fall Classic. 
 
Eleanor Whisler, Navy, Fr., Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz 
*Whisler finished fifth in her collegiate debut, logging a 6K time of 21:53.6.

CHAMPIONSHIPS  
The 2025 Patriot League Cross Country Championships are slated for Friday, Oct. 31 in Bethlehem, Pa. on the campus of Lehigh University.
