Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week Announced (3.9.26)

Army West Point’s Reilly and Duffy, Holy Cross’ Levy-Smith and Creagh and Loyola Maryland’s Murphy

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 24 Army West Point and Holy Cross each claimed two weekly awards when the Patriot League announced women’s lacrosse weekly awards on Monday. No. 17 Loyola Maryland picked up one accolade.
 
Army West Point senior Allison Reilly claimed Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Attacker of the Week honors after recording 12 points on four goals and eight assists in the Black Knights’ wins over Fairfield (15-8) and Boston University (15-11). Army West Point senior Brigid Duffy captured her second Patriot League Midfielder of the Week this season and 13th of her career, posting 10 goals, four assists, seven draw controls, six ground balls and six caused turnovers in wins over the Stags and Terriers.
 
Holy Cross senior Racheli Levy-Smith collected her fourth straight Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, and the sixth of her career, finishing the week with 16 draw controls, seven ground balls and four caused turnovers in games against Dartmouth and Lafayette.  Crusaders’ senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Creagh earned Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week after posting a .463 save percentage with 19 stops in two games, including a win over the Leopards.
 
Loyola Maryland freshman defender Mae Murphy claimed her third Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week award. She won nine draw controls in the Greyhounds’ 9-8 win over No. 24 Georgetown.
 
Lehigh junior Grace Martel and senior attack Kacie Wines, Loyola Maryland sophomore midfielder Mim Suares-Jury and Navy junior goalkeeper Felicia Giglio, senior attack Emma Kennedy and senior midfielder Ava Yovino received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League women’s lacrosse players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
Allison Reilly, Army West Point, Sr., Attack, Sayville, N.Y./Sayville
*Reilly recorded 12 points on four goals and eight assists to lead Army West Point to wins over Fairfield (15-8) and Boston University (15-11) last week.
*She posted one goal, four assists and two caused turnovers in the Black Knights’ win over the Terriers on Saturday. The senior attack finished with a hat trick, four assists and seven draw controls against Fairfield.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Sr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy totaled 14 points on 10 goals and four assists in Army West Point’s wins over Fairfield (15-8) and Boston University (15-11). She also added seven draw controls, six ground balls and six caused turnovers.
*The senior midfielder posted seven points on six goals and one assist to go along with three ground balls and three caused turnovers in the Black Knights’ League opener against Boston University.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Racheli Levy-Smith, Holy Cross, Sr., Defender, Margate, N.J./Ocean City
*Levy-Smith totaled 16 draw controls, seven ground balls and four caused turnovers during the Crusaders’ 1-1 week, including an 18-7 League-opening victory over Lafayette.
*She recorded 15 draw controls, the fifth-highest single-game total in program history, to go along with two caused turnovers and two ground balls against the Leopards.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Mackenzie Creagh, Holy Cross, Sr., Goalkeeper, Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side
*Creagh posted a .463 save percentage on 19 stops to help Holy Cross go 1-1 last week, including an 18-7 League victory over Lafayette.
*The senior goalkeeper made 11 saves, allowing six goals, against the Leopards in 56:08, helping the Crusaders open their League schedule.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mae Murphy, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Defender/Draw Specialist, Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown
*Murphy tallied nine draw controls, helping Loyola Maryland win 13-of-19 draws, in a 9-8 victory over No. 24 Georgetown on Wednesday.
*She played a key role in holding the Hoyas scoreless for the final seven minutes of the game.

*Freeman posted 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers Lehigh’s wins over Manhattan (20-3) and Rider (19-11). She matched season highs with five ground balls and two caused turnovers in each game.

*Martel scored a season-high with four goals and five ground balls in Lehigh’s 19-11 victory over Rider. She also tallied two goals, two caused turnovers and four draw controls in a 20-3 win over Manhattan on Wednesday.

*Wines broke a Lehigh single-game mark with seven assists in a 19-11 win at Rider on Saturday to go along with one goal. She recorded four assists in the Mountain Hawks’ 20-3 win over Manhattan on Wednesday.

*Suares-Jury scored three goals to lead Loyola Maryland to a 9-8 victory over No. 24 Georgetown on Wednesday.

*Giglio made six saves, allowing seven goals, in Navy’s 19-8 victory over South Florida to improve to 6-0. The junior goalkeeper limited the Bulls to single-digit goals, the third time the Mids have held a team to under 10 goals this season.
