BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy claimed two of the five Patriot League women’s lacrosse weekly awards when honors were announced Monday. Boston University, Holy Cross and Loyola Maryland each received one accolade.
Navy sophomore Alyssa Chung claimed Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Attacker of the Week for the second straight week and third time this season. She recorded 15 points on five goals and 10 assists in wins over Lafayette (24-1) and Colgate (23-7) last week.
The Mids’ junior Felicia Giglio added to her League record, collecting her sixth Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week award of the season. She finished with a .714 save percentage and a 3.59 goals-against average in wins over the Leopards and Raiders.
Boston University junior Tessa Geddes won her first Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder of the Week, after posting seven goals, one assist, six draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls to help the Terriers go 2-0 with wins over Colgate (15-10) and Bucknell (13-4) to clinch a berth in the Patriot League Championship.
Holy Cross senior Racheli Levy-Smith was named Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the sixth time this season to match the League’s record held by Loyola Maryland’s Lindsey Ehrhardt. She posted 10 draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls in the Crusaders’ 14-9 upset win over No. 17 Loyola Maryland.
Loyola Maryland freshman Mae Murphy was voted Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season after surpassing 200 draw controls with 12 in a loss against Holy Cross.
American senior midfielder Reagan Murdoch, Army West Point senior defender Sarah Chernik, senior midfielder Brigid Duffy and senior attacker Allison Reilly, Boston University junior goalkeeper Natalie Aiosa and sophomore defender Kaitlyn Barton and Holy Cross junior attack Kate Avitabile, junior midfielder Annabel Brennan and senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Creagh received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
The Patriot League women’s lacrosse players of the week are selected by a vote of League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*The junior midfielder scored three goals against the Bison making her the first BU player to reach 40 goals in a season since 2017.

Racheli Levy-Smith, Holy Cross, Sr., Defender, Margate, N.J./Ocean City
*Levy-Smith recorded 10 draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls to lead Holy Cross to a 14-9 upset victory over No. 17 Loyola Maryland.
*She posted 15 draw controls and two caused turnovers in the Crusaders 17-6 loss at No. 13 Army West Point.
*Her 158 draw controls and 37 caused turnovers are both second in the Patriot League.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

*Giglio recorded a .714 save percentage and a 3.59 goals-against average (GAA) to help Navy to 2-0 last week, with wins over Lafayette (24-1) and Colgate (23-7).
*The junior goalkeeper made a season-high 10 saves without allowing a goal in 46:37 minutes of the Mids’ 24-1 victory at Lafayette.
*She made five saves in 53:34 minutes of a 23-7 win over Colgate.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mae Murphy, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Defender/Draw Specialist, Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown
*Murphy became the third different student-athlete in Patriot League history to eclipse 200 draw controls in a season after recording 12 in a loss to Holy Cross on Saturday.
*The freshman defender posted two caused turnovers and one ground ball against the Crusaders.
*Her 201 draw controls is the fourth-highest single-season mark in Patriot League history.

*Murdoch scored five goals and dished out one assist to go along with four ground balls and one caused turnover during the Eagles’ 1-1 week. She finished with two goals, one assist and four ground balls in a 12-10 win over Lafayette. She posted a hat trick in a 12-11 loss against Bucknell.
Sarah Chernik, Army West Point, Sr., Defender, Milton, Ga./Blessed Trinity Catholic
*Chernik finished the Black Knights’ 2-0 week with 16 draw controls, seven ground balls and six caused turnovers. She tied a single-game program record with 16 draw controls in Army’s win over Lehigh. Chernik caused five turnovers in a 17-6 win over Holy Cross.
Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Sr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy helped Army West Point go 2-0 last week with wins over Holy Cross (17-6) and Lehigh (17-10), finishing with five goals, two assists, eight draw controls, six caused turnovers and three ground balls. The Top-25 Tewaaraton Award finalist was also the No. 3 overall selection in the inaugural WLL Draft.

*Reilly posted 14 points on four goals and 10 assists to help Army West Point go 2-0 with wins over Holy Cross (17-6) and Lehigh (17-10) to clinch a top-two seed in the Patriot League Championship. *Aiosa recorded a .481 save percentage and 7.0 GAA to help the Terriers go 2-0 last week and clinch a berth in the Patriot League Championship. She made nine saves, picked up three ground balls and allowed just four goals in Saturday’s 13-4 win over Bucknell.

*Barton recorded nine draw controls, five caused turnovers and four ground balls in Boston University’s wins over Colgate (15-10) and Bucknell (13-4) to clinch a berth in the Patriot League Championship. Her four caused turnovers against Colgate were a career high. She helped the Terriers’ defense hold Bucknell to a season-low four goals.
