Each Friday during the Patriot League women's basketball season, www.patriotleague.com will provide a brief question-and-answer session with each head coach, which were completed prior to the start of the League schedule in the beginning of January. This week, the interview is with Lafayette's Tammy Smith.

Q1 - What are your thoughts on your season thus far (prior to League play)?

A1 - It has been the best start for the program in nine years. We have picked up some good wins and have been competitive in each of the loses. We continue to get better and learn from each game.

Q2 - What are your expectations of the upcoming League schedule?

A2 - There is a lot of parity amongst the teams. I really believe the League will be very competitive from top to bottom.

Q3 - Who will be your toughest competitors once League play beings?

A3 - Holy Cross obviously will be a tough opponent, and Army has a lot of talent returning. Overall, I believe that on any given night any one of the teams has potential to pick up a win.

Q4 - How much pride do you take in the Patriot League scholar-athlete model?

A4 - In this League, you get the true student-athletes. It is a special experience for them, getting a great education and playing Division I basketball. Watching them grow in the classroom, on campus and on the court is something that makes me very proud.

Q5 - What does it mean to have most of your regular starters back from a year ago?

A5 - It's a nice feeling to have experienced players on the court as well as a talented core of underclassmen getting some valuable minutes. It is a good mix.
