BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Loyola Maryland senior goalkeeper Paige Sim earned the 2022 Patriot League Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year accolade when it was announced by the League office on Tuesday.
Sim is also one of the 11 members of the sport's Academic All-Patriot League team. Seven of the 10 Patriot League programs are represented on the academic all-League squad, with Boston University leading the way with three student-athletes on the team.
Army West Point senior midfielder Lauren Drysdale (Management Business Management, 3.617) and junior forward Jasmine Talley (Systems Engineering, 3.93), BU sophomore forward Morgan Fagan (Business Administration & Management, 4.0), junior midfielder Lily Matthews (Environmental Analysis & Policy, 3.88) and senior forward Amy Thompson (Anthropology, 3.95), and Bucknell sophomore midfielder Teresa Deda (Biology, 3.61) and senior forward Rylee Donaldson (Political Science, 3.71) joined Sim on the academic team.
Colgate senior midfielder Emily Amano (Computer Science & Chemistry, 3.88), Lehigh sophomore forward Corinne Lyght (Business, 4.0), and Navy junior defender Chloe Dawson (Honors Robotics & Control Engineering, 3.98) were also selected to the academic team.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player within his/her sport. Freshmen or student-athletes in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
The Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each sport comprises the pool of nominees for the Patriot League Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards given out during the summer.
2022 Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year

* Sim, a three-time women’s soccer academic All-League member, owns a 3.9 cumulative GPA as a biochemistry major at Loyola.
* The senior was one of two Diane Geppi-Aikens Service to Loyola award winners, which is the highest honor the school gives to student leaders.
* Sim volunteers at the Ulman House Foundation and the Cycle to Inspire fundraiser for cancer research.
* She was a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-America selection, the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, and a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-North Region member in 2021.
