BETHLEHEM, Pa. –Lehigh senior Daniel Song claimed Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week and Navy juniors Mara Hirtle and Stephanie Lee received women’s co-golfers of the week when the League office announced honors on Wednesday.
Song collected his first Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week after finishing second at the Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational with a 4-under par 140 (69-71).
Hirtle and Lee were named Patriot League Women’s Co-Golfers of the Week after tying for sixth place at the Navy Fall Invitational with 8-over par 152 scores to help the Mids win the two-round event at the Naval Academy Golf Club.
Bucknell freshman Paige Richter, Lafayette freshman Harry Dessel and Loyola Maryland senior Carlo Pizzano received honorable mentions for their performances.
PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Daniel Song, Lehigh, Sr., Beijing, China/Monteverde Academy
*Song finished second, one stroke behind the individual medalist, with a 4-under par 140 (69-71) at the two-round, par-72 Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y.
*He shot a career-best 3-under par 69 in the first round, helping the Mountain Hawks claim the title with a team score of 1-under par 575 (290-285).
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S CO-GOLFERS OF THE WEEK
Mara Hirtle, Navy, Jr., Pinehurst, N.C./Pinecrest | Stephanie Lee, Navy, Jr., Southlake, Texas/Carroll Senior
*Hirtle tied for Navy’s top finisher at the Navy Fall Invitational, placing sixth by shooting an 8-over par 152 (73-79) at the par-72 Naval Academy Golf Course.
*Lee shot a 5-over par 77 in the second round to move into a sixth-place tie with Hirtle at the Navy Fall Invitational with an 8-over par 152 (75-77).
*Hirtle and Lee helped the Mids win the two-round event with a team score of 27-over par 616 (301-315) in a field that included Patriot League rivals Bucknell and Lehigh.

Paige Richter, Bucknell, Fr., Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill
*Richter tied for 16th by shooting an 11-over par 155 (79-76) at the two-round, par-72 Navy Fall Invitational. Her second-round score of 4-over par 76 was tied for the fifth-best mark in the second round through wet and windy conditions.

*Dessel finished fourth out of 78 golfers at the UConn Invitational at Great Horse by shooting a 2-over par 218 (73-72-73).
Carlo Pizzano, Loyola Maryland, Sr., College Park, Md./St. Anselm’s Abbey
*Pizzano tied for 16th place at the Hamptons Intercollegiate by shooting a 14-over par 230 (77-77-76) in a talented field that included four teams in
Golfweek’s top 100 rankings.
