BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate earned two of this week’s softball honors when the League announced the laurels on Tuesday. Boston University collected one weekly award.
Colgate junior utility Adrienne Nardone was named Patriot League Softball Player of the Week while freshman utility player Jillian Herbst earned rookie of the week for the third-straight week and fifth time this season.
BU junior Lizzy Avery received her third pitcher of the week nod for the season.
BU sophomore outfielder Lauren Keleher, Holy Cross senior outfielder Bailey Chavez and sophomore pitcher Megan Yurchick, and Lehigh senior infielder Carley Barjaktarovich received honorable mention honors.
PATRIOT LEAGUE SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Adrienne Nardone, Colgate, Jr., UTL, Ellwood City, Pa./North Catholic High School
* Nardone is coming off a career week in which she batted .818 (9-for-11) with a 1.909 slugging percentage and .857 on-base percentage.
* In five games this week, Nardone produced four multi-hit performances, three home runs, seven RBIs, four runs scored, one double, and one triple.
* She had a home run in every game of Colgate's series with Lehigh, including a two-run homer in game one as part of her three-hit, four-RBI game to help the Raiders hand Lehigh just its second League loss of the season with a 7-4 victory.
PATRIOT LEAGUE SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Lizzy Avery, Boston University, Jr., P, Alameda, Calif./Bishop O’Dowd
* Avery posted a 2-0 record, 0.00 ERA, 12 strikeouts against three walks and .139 opposing batting average in 14.0 innings of work to help the Terriers earn their first-ever sweep in West Point.
* The junior first pitched BU's longest complete-game effort in a 2-1 (9 inning) victory against Army with nine strikeouts against two hits allowed.
* She then tallied three strikeouts in her second complete game as the Terriers earned an 11-1 win over the Black Knights.
PATRIOT LEAGUE SOFTBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jillian Herbst, Colgate, Fr., UTL, Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch
* Herbst slashed .294 (5-for-17) with a .412 on-base percentage and .294 on-base mark last week.
* In five games this week, Herbst paced the team with five runs scored and added a triple and an RBI.
* She went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored in the series finale on Sunday, giving her a team-best 14 multi-hit games this season.

Lauren Keleher, Boston University, So., OF, Abington, Mass./Abington
* Keleher batted .455 (5-for-11) in a three-game sweep at Army, including a 3-for-4 outing with an RBI and three runs scored in an 11-1 victory in five innings.
Bailey Chavez, Holy Cross, Sr., OF, Hacienda Heights, Calif.
* Chavez extended her hitting streak to eight games after hitting .600 with an RBI and three runs scored in a 2-1 week for Holy Cross.
Megan Yurchick, Holy Cross, So., P, Clermont, Fla./East Ridge
* Yurchick amassed a 0.00 ERA in 9.0 innings with three strikeouts, a .100 opposing batting average, a 1-0 record, a save, and a complete game shutout in two games for Holy Cross.
Carley Barjaktarovich, Lehigh, Sr., INF, Richmond, Mich./Richmond
* Barjaktarovich had three hits in all three games of Colgate series, to go with four runs scored and two RBIs. The senior finished the weekend with a .818 batting average (9-11) and a .818 slugging percentage.
