BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Patriot League softball weekly honors were announced on Tuesday with Army West Point, Boston University and Lehigh each collecting one of the weekly awards.
Army senior Angelina Babek was named player of the week, while pitcher of the week honors went to BU senior Allison Boaz.
For the second time this season, Lehigh’s Lily Owens earned rookie of the week.
Army freshman Taylor Brown, BU teammates junior Lauren Keleher and freshman Brooke Deppiesse, Bucknell senior Chase Knapp and Lehigh junior Katelyn Young received honorable mention laurels.
Patriot League Softball Player of the Week
Angelina Bebek, Army West Point, Sr., INF, Downey, Calif./Saint Joseph
*The senior batted .538 (7-for-13) while posting a .692 slugging percentage in four games.
*The infielder had a hit in every game, including two doubles and three RBIs.
*In Army’s 2-1 upset over Kansas, Bebek scored one run and was 3-for-3 at the plate.
*Her stat line at the end of the weekend included 12 putouts and nine assists.
Patriot League Softball Pitcher of the Week
Allison Boaz, Boston University, Sr. P, San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo
*Boaz went 3-0, posted an 0.72 ERA and held opposing batters to a .200 batting average in 19.1 innings of work.
*In relief against Montana, Boaz retired nine of 10 batters to lead the Terriers to a 9-1(5) victory.
*The senior pitched a complete-game shutout in a 2-0 win over Long Beach State, as she tallied four strikeouts.
*Boaz now ranks eighth all-time at BU with 13 career shutouts.
Patriot League Softball Rookie of the Week
Lily Owens, Lehigh, Fr. INF, Chino Hills, Calif., Bishop Amat Memorial
*The freshman batted .467 (7-for-15) over five games at the Camel Invitational with six runs scored, two home runs and four RBIs.
*She went 3-for-3 in Lehigh’s tournament-opening win over Furman and homered in her first at-bat against, 2022 Big South Champions, Campbell.
*In the Mountain Hawk’s seven-run eighth-inning win over NC Central, Owens had an RBI single and scored a run.
Honorable Mention
Taylor Brown, Army West Point, Fr., INF, Pembroke Pines, Fl., Archbishop McCarthy
*In four games, the freshman batted .455 (5-for-11) scoring three runs and driving in two more. Brown posted a .538 on-base percentage, and a perfect fielding percentage with 28 error-free putouts.
Lauren Keleher, Boston University, Jr., OF, Abington, Mass./Abington
*In the lead-off slot, Keleher batted .350 (7-for-20) with an on-base percentage of .409 in five games. Six of her seven hits went for extra bases, including three triples and three doubles. She went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored in the Terriers’ 9-1(5) win over Montana.
Brooke Deppiesse, Boston University, Fr., 2B, Redwood City, Calif./St. Francis
*Deppiesse batted .296 with five RBIs and two runs scored in six games. She had an RBI sacrifice fly and a two-run double in the Terrier’s 9-1(5) win over Montana. In BU’s 5-3 win over San Diego State, she went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
Chase Knapp, Bucknell, Sr., UTL, Newbury Park, Calif./Newbury
*Knapp went 4-for-9 in three games at the TU DeMarini Invite, including two doubles, a triple and a home run.
Katelyn Young, Lehigh, Jr., P, Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown
*In three starts at the Camel Invitational, Young faced 63 batters, struck out 17 and held her opponents to a .242 batting average in 16.1 innings of work.
