Patriot League Softball Players of the Week Announced (3.30.26)

Colgate, Boston University and Lehigh each earn a Patriot League softball weekly awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate, Boston University and Lehigh each claimed a Patriot League softball weekly award when the League office announced the honors on Monday.
 
Colgate junior outfielder Nora Megenity was named Patriot League Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after batting .545 (6-for-11) with a .818 slugging percentage, totaling four RBIs and four runs scored in a 2–1 weekend.
 
Boston University senior pitcher Kasey Ricard earned Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors for a Patriot-League record 17th time after going 3–0 with a 0.74 ERA and 27 strikeouts over 19.0 innings pitched.
 
Lehigh first-year pitcher Addison Moorman was selected as Patriot League Rookie of the Week after going 2–1 with a complete-game three-hit shutout against Boston University, snapping the Terriers’ 19-game winning streak.
 
Lehigh junior infielder Peyton Sward, Bucknell freshman outfielder Barbara Jo Coppola, Army West Point sophomore infielder Hannah Laub and senior pitcher Breanna Izzo, Colgate first-year pitcher Kelcie McGraw and first-year infielder Marina Taveras earned honorable mention recognition.

The Patriot League softball players of the week are selected in a vote by each school’s head softball coach, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Softball Player of the Week
Nora Megenity, Colgate, Jr., OF, Atlanta, Ga./Milton

*Megenity batted .545 (6-for-11) with a .818 slugging percentage, totaling four RBIs and four runs scored in a 2–1 weekend.
*She hit her team-leading 12th home run and went 3-for-4 with four RBIs in a 14–0 series-clinching win over Holy Cross.
*Megenity extended her hitting streak to eight games, helping power Colgate to a seven-game winning streak.

Patriot League Softball Pitcher­­ of the Week
Kasey Ricard, Boston University, Sr., P, Littleton, Mass./Littleton
*Ricard went 3–0 with a 0.74 ERA and 27 strikeouts over 19.0 innings, allowing just two earned runs and holding opponents to a .171 average.
*She struck out 11 in a win over UConn and added 10 strikeouts in a victory against Lehigh.
*Ricard closed the week with a shutout win over Lehigh, recording six strikeouts
*Ricard now holds the Patriot League record with 17 career Pitcher of the Week selections.

Patriot League Softball Rookie­­ of the Week
Addison Moorman, Lehigh, Fy., P, Granada Hills, Calif./Granada Hills Charter

*Moorman went 2–1 with a complete-game three-hit shutout against Boston University, snapping the Terriers’ 19-game winning streak.
*She also carried a shutout into the seventh inning in a win over Drexel and leads Lehigh with seven wins this season.
*Moorman owns a 3.29 ERA and recorded Lehigh’s first complete-game shutout of the 2026 season.

Honorable Mentions 
Peyton Sward, Lehigh, Jr., INF, Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park
Sward batted .500 with a .615 on-base percentage while recording a hit in all four games and going a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen bases. She delivered an RBI triple and helped Lehigh snap Boston University’s 19-game winning streak.
 
Barbara Jo Coppola, Bucknell, Fr., OF, Harrison, N.Y./Harrison
Coppola hit .615 (8-for-13) with a double, triple, home run and nine RBIs, highlighted by her first collegiate home run at Cornell. She went 6-for-9 with seven RBIs against Saint Francis.

Hannah Laub, Army West Point, So., INF, Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley
Laub batted .545 with six hits and four RBIs, including her first two career home runs against Fordham. She extended her hitting streak to five games.
 
Breanna Izzo, Army West Point, Sr., P, Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge
Izzo threw a complete-game no-hitter with six strikeouts, marking her third no-hitter of the season and setting Army West Point program records for single-season and career no-hitters.
 
Kelcie McGraw, Colgate, Fy., P, Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township
McGraw tossed a five-inning shutout, allowing four hits with four strikeouts in a 14–0 win over Holy Cross. She held opponents to a .200 batting average in the outing.
 
Marina Taveras, Colgate, Fy., INF, Fort Worth, Tex./Aledo
Taveras drove in a team-high six RBIs, highlighted by a grand slam for her 10th home run of the season in a 14–0 win over Holy Cross. She recorded a hit in all three games of the series.
