BETHLEHEM, Pa. —Boston University swept this week’s Patriot League tennis awards when the League announced the winners on Tuesday.
BU sophomore Corey Craig went a perfect 4-0 in No. 1 singles and doubles play against League rivals Army West Point and Lehigh, earning him men’s player of the week for an unprecedented sixth time this season.
For the second week in a row, Terrier freshman Uma Bakaityte was named Patriot League Women’s Player of the Week. Bakaityte helped the Terriers finish the regular season undefeated in League play after going 4-0 in singles and doubles play against Lehigh and Army.
Army West Point sophomore Ylan Duong, Bucknell sophomore Amar Tahirovic, Colgate junior Josh Israel, and Navy senior Samantha Johns and sophomore Herrick Legaspi earned honorable mentions.
Men’s Player of the Week
Corey Craig, Boston University, So., Coconut Creek, Fla./Monarch
*Against Army West Point and Lehigh, Craig went 4-0 in No. 1 singles and doubles play helping lead the Terriers to enter the Patriot League tournament undefeated in conference play for the first time ever.
*In No. 1 singles action, the sophomore notched wins over Army’s Daniel Zhou (6-0, 6-2) and Lehigh’s Matt Kleiman (6-1, 6-4).
*In No. 1 doubles play, he and teammate Alejandro Licea scored wins over the Black Knights (6-2) and the Mountain Hawks (6-3).
Women’s Player of the Week

*The freshman was 4-0 in singles and doubles play against League opponents Lehigh and Army.
*In BU’s 4-0 win over the Mountain Hawks, she posted wins at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-4) and No. 1 doubles (6-2).
*In the Terriers’ 4-0 win over the Black Knights, Bakaityte notched a 6-2, 6-3 court-two singles win and a 6-3 court-one doubles victory.
*The freshman never dropped a set on her way to a 5-0 record in League singles play this season.

*Against Navy, the sophomore outlasted reigning Patriot League Player of the Year Sasha Panyan 7-6, 1-6, 6-4.
*In the Bison’s 4-3 win over Drexel, he defeated the Dragons’ Alan Jesudason 6-4, 7-5.
Josh Israel, Colgate, Jr., Madison Conn./Daniel Hand
*In the Raiders’ 4-1 win over Loyola, Israel recorded wins in No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-2) and No. 1 doubles (6-3).
*The junior also captured victories at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles in Colgate’s 6-1 victory over Stonehill.
Samantha Johns, Navy, Sr., Simpsonville, S.C./ South Carolina Connections Academy
*Johns recorded a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles in Navy's 6-1 win over Morgan State.

*In Navy’s 5-2 win over Bucknell, the sophomore earned a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 decision at No. 2 singles and a 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.
