BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Navy senior Herrick Legaspi and Navy sophomore Grace Li earned Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honors, respectively, when the League office announced its awards on Tuesday.
Legaspi captured Patriot League Men’s Tennis Player of the Week recognition after going a perfect 4–0 at No. 1 singles and doubles in matches against UC San Diego and Air Force.
Li was named Patriot League Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after going 3–0 across singles and doubles, helping Navy extend its winning streak to eight matches.
Army West Point juniors Alan Ton and Emily Ruckno, Boston University freshman David Asenov, Colgate senior Amelia Galin and Holy Cross junior Matt Carlson earned honorable mention recognition.
Patriot League Men’s Player of the Week
Herrick Legaspi, Navy, Sr., Sacramento, Calif.
*Legaspi went a perfect 4–0 at No. 1 singles and doubles, helping Navy in matches against UC San Diego and Air Force.
*He earned straight-set singles wins, including a 6-2, 6-0 victory over UCSD’s Oliver Worth.
*Legaspi also secured two doubles wins alongside Tommy Kim and Charlie Spencer.
Patriot League Women’s Player of the Week
Grace Li, Navy, So., West Chester, Pa./Unionville
*Li went 3–0 across singles and doubles, helping Navy extend its winning streak to eight matches.
*She earned two straight-set victories at No. 3 singles and added a doubles win alongside Julia Lee.
*Li has now won six consecutive singles matches and is 3–0 in her last five doubles matches with Lee.

Alan Ton, Army West Point, Jr., Fountain Valley, Calif./Fountain Valley
Ton earned a three-set singles victory at No. 3 over UC Irvine’s Sohrob Amiryavari, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4. He competed at both singles and doubles against UC Irvine and Loyola Marymount.
David Asenov, Boston University, Fr., Toronto, Ont./Northview Heights
Asenov clinched BU’s first Patriot League win with a 7-5, 7-6 (6) victory at No. 1 singles over Colgate. He also competed in a tightly contested No. 1 doubles match.
Emily Ruckno, Army West Point, Jr., Hilton Head Island, S.C./Hilton Head Island
Ruckno earned a 6-2 doubles win at No. 1 and a dominant 6-1, 6-1 singles victory at No. 3 to help Army to a 4–1 win over Loyola.
Amelia Galin, Colgate, Sr., Westport, Conn./Staples
Galin picked up wins at No. 1 doubles and singles, including a 6-3, 6-2 singles victory, to lead Colgate to a 4–0 sweep of Holy Cross.
Matt Carlson, Holy Cross, Jr., Amherst, N.Y./Nichols
Carlson went 2–0 in singles with wins over Trinity and Colgate and added a doubles victory against Trinity.
