Patriot League Announces Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week (3.10.26)

Army West Point’s Ton, Smith sweep Patriot League Tennis Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Army West Point junior Alan Ton and Army West Point junior Madison Smith earned Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honors, respectively, when the League office announced its awards on Tuesday.
 
Ton captured Patriot League Men’s Tennis Player of the Week recognition after going 3–0 in singles, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to help Army West Point defeat Marist, Lamar and Hofstra.
 
Smith was named Patriot League Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after earning two No. 1 singles victories, including a clinching three-set win over Fordham’s Nevena Kolarevic
 
Lehigh junior Alex Van Lumich, Bucknell sophomore Cameron King, Colgate senior Sasha Herman and Lehigh junior Maggie Forkner earned honorable mention recognition.

Patriot League Men’s Player of the Week
Alan Ton, Army West Point, Jr., Fountain Valley, Calif./Fountain Valley

*Ton went 3–0 in singles, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to help Army West Point to victories over Marist, Lamar and Hofstra.
*He secured a three-set win over Marist’s Alejandro Abella Fernandez and added straight-set victories against Lamar’s and Hofstra’s opponents.

Patriot League Women’s Player of the Week
Madison Smith, Army West Point, Jr., Boynton Beach, Fla./St. Andrew’s School

*Smith earned two No. 1 singles victories, including a clinching three-set win over Fordham’s Nevena Kolarevic.
*She also contributed a key No. 1 doubles win alongside Isabella Brilliant in Army West Point’s victory over Hofstra.
 
Honorable Mentions
Alex Van Lumich, Lehigh, Jr., Zaragoza, Spain/IES Goya

Van Lumich went 3–0 at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles, earning a straight-set singles win over Mount St. Mary’s and two doubles victories alongside Sean Jaeger against Penn State and the Mounts.
 
Cameron King, Bucknell, So., Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva
King picked up a doubles victory with Natalie Devraj at the No. 3 spot against No. 48 Hawai‘i for her lone win of the week.
 
Sasha Herman, Colgate, Sr., Fair Haven, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven
Herman earned straight-set singles and doubles wins to help Colgate secure a 4–1 victory over Le Moyne on Senior Day.
 
Maggie Forkner, Lehigh, Jr., Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville
Forkner posted a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles over Mount St. Mary’s, winning 6-0, 6-2.
