BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Bucknell senior Adam Stavrakas and Boston University sophomore Gabriella Mikaul earned Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honors, respectively, when the League office announced its awards on Tuesday.
Stavrakas captured Patriot League Men’s Tennis Player of the Week recognition after going a perfect 4–0 across singles and doubles, helping Bucknell to wins over Loyola Maryland and Saint Francis.
Mikaul was named Patriot League Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after going 2–0 against No. 38 Yale, highlighted by a 7-6 (5) victory at No. 1 doubles alongside Nancy Liu over the No. 35-ranked pair of Orly Ogilvy and Leena Friedman.
Army West Point freshman Tucker Culpepper and junior Emily Ruckno, Holy Cross junior Teddy Callery and freshman Margaret Winiecki, Navy senior Aniketh Ayinala and sophomore Emma Gu, and Loyola Maryland senior Christine Richiez earned honorable mention recognition.
Patriot League Men’s Player of the Week
Adam Stavrakas, Bucknell, Sr., Athens, Greece/St. Catherine’s British School
*Stavrakas went a perfect 4–0 across singles and doubles, helping Bucknell to wins over Loyola Maryland and Saint Francis.
*He earned two dominant straight-set singles victories, conceding just three total games in his first singles action since Feb. 1.
*Stavrakas also picked up doubles wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to cap an unbeaten weekend.
Patriot League Women’s Player of the Week
Gabriella Mikaul, Boston University, So., Manalapan, N.J./Laurel Springs
*Mikaul went 2–0 against No. 38 Yale, highlighted by a 7-6 (5) victory at No. 1 doubles alongside Nancy Liu over the No. 35-ranked pair of Orly Ogilvy and Leena Friedman.
*She also earned a three-set win at No. 1 singles, helping BU claim two points in a tight 4–3 match.

Callery went 1–1 in singles and doubles, highlighted by a straight-set victory over Lafayette at No. 3 singles and a doubles win at the No. 2 spot.
Aniketh Ayinala, Navy, Sr., Charlotte, N.C./Saddleback Prep
Ayinala went 2–0 in Navy’s sweep of Boston University, earning wins at No. 2 singles and No. 3 doubles.
Emily Ruckno, Army West Point, Jr., Hilton Head Island, S.C./Hilton Head Island
Ruckno went 1–0 in singles and 2–0 in doubles, picking up a straight-set singles win and two doubles victories to help Army West Point defeat Lafayette and Holy Cross.
Margaret Winiecki, Holy Cross, Fr., Jaffrey, N.H./Conant
Winiecki earned a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles, securing Holy Cross’ lone point against Lafayette.
Christine Richiez, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Park Ridge, N.J./Park Ridge
Richiez won at No. 1 singles and doubles, including a three-set singles victory, to lead Loyola Maryland to a 4–3 win over Bucknell.
Emma Gu, Navy, So., West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison
Gu went 3–0 across singles and doubles, defeating two returning All-Patriot League players at No. 1 singles to extend Navy’s winning streak to 10 matches.
