Patriot League Women’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Players of the Week Announced (12.22.25)

Loyola Maryland’s Sims and Navy’s Mesuch earn Patriot League Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Loyola Maryland graduate forward Koi Sims was named the Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Navy freshman guard Zoe Mesuch earned Rookie of the Week honors, as announced by the League office on Monday.
 
Sims received Player of the Week recognition after leading the Greyhounds with 18 points and 15 rebounds in a comeback win over Morgan State, recording her second double-double of the season.
 
Mesuch was named Rookie of the Week after posting a career-high 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including five three-pointers, in Navy’s road contest at South Florida.
 
American sophomore guard Madisyn Moore-Nicholson, Bucknell junior forward Tuana Coskun, Boston University sophomore forward Allison Schwertner, Lafayette senior guard Teresa Kiewiet, American freshman forward Charlotte Tuhy, and Loyola Maryland freshman guard Olivia Shaughnessy earned honorable mention recognition.
 
The Patriot League women’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
Zoe Mesuch, Navy, Fr., G, Clintondale, N.Y./Wallkill
*Mesuch poured in a career-best 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-9 from three, in a road game at South Florida.
*The freshman scored 13 points in the first half and tied for the team lead with three assists, helping the Mids battle even in the third quarter.

Honorable Mentions
Madisyn Moore-Nicholson, American, So., G, Odenton, Md./Georgetown Day School
Moore-Nicholson posted back-to-back double-figure scoring performances, tallying 14 points vs. VCU before matching her career-high with 20 against UMBC. She added four assists vs. UMBC and two steals in each game.
 
Tuana Coskun, Bucknell, Jr., F, Istanbul, Turkey/Rabun Gap Nacoochee
Coskun erupted for a career-high 33 points on 12-of-16 shooting, including 8-of-12 from three, tying the program record for made threes in a game. She helped Bucknell set a team record with 15 three-pointers while adding three rebounds and three assists.
 
Allison Schwertner, Boston University, So., F, Littleton, Colo./Mullen
Schwertner led the Terriers with 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting and 12 rebounds in a win over UMaine Fort Kent. The outing marked her second career double-double.
 
Teresa Kiewiet, Lafayette, Sr., G, North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West
Kiewiet finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks on 7-of-13 shooting at Rutgers. She logged 32 minutes and knocked down two three-pointers.
 
Charlotte Tuhy, American, Fr., F, Madison, N.J./Madison
Tuhy led all players in rebounding in games against VCU and UMBC while averaging a league-best 10.4 rebounds per game. She also set a career high with 20 points against UMBC.
 
Olivia Shaughnessy, Loyola Maryland, Fr., G, Freehold, Md./Manasquan
Shaughnessy provided a spark off the bench with a season-high 12 points and four assists against Morgan State. She scored seven points in the fourth quarter as part of the Greyhounds’ 15-2 closing run.
