Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Notebook (2.28.25)

Seven League teams in action this weekend, with four games on ESPN+

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Seven Patriot League women’s lacrosse teams will be in action this weekend, including four games on ESPN+. Two League games will be available on FloSports.com with one more game on AmericaEast.TV.
 
No. 21/25 Army West Point travels to Colorado for a Friday matchup on ESPN+ with coverage beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
 
Five League teams will be in action on Saturday, with No. 15 Loyola Maryland taking on crosstown rival Towson at 11 a.m. on FloSports. Lafayette hosts Old Dominion (ESPN+) and Lehigh travels to Georgetown (FloSports) in a pair of games beginning at noon. Colgate travels to UAlbany (AmericaEast.TV) and Bucknell heads to Mount St. Mary’s (ESPN+), with both games starting at 4 p.m.
 
No. 22/19 Navy hosts High Point on Sunday with the opening draw scheduled for noon on ESPN+ to conclude the weekend of action.

This Week in Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse
Columbia 10, at Lehigh 6 (BOX SCORE): The Mountain Hawks were outscored 5-1 in the second half to drop its home opener to Columbia, 10-6 on Tuesday. Molly Snow and Angelina Pino scored two goals apiece for Lehigh.
At Bucknell 17, Kent State 6 (BOX SCORE): The Bison scored the game’s first six goals and never looked back in a 17-6 victory over Kent State on Tuesday. Caroline Sheridan posted a game-high six points on five goals and one assist for the Bison. Kat Reynolds and Allie Boyce both recorded hat tricks.
UMass 21, at Holy Cross 8 (BOX SCORE): The Crusaders could not keep pace with UMass in a 21-8 home loss on Tuesday. Ella Kittredge finished with two goals, one assist, two ground balls and two draw controls. Isabela Miller added one goal and three assists.
At American 13, George Washington 7 (BOX SCORE) American outscored GW 8-4 after the break to defeat its crosstown rivals 13-7 on Wednesday. Kellie Linehan and Reagan Murdoch scored four goals apiece, while Mady Spratt finished with five points on four assists and one goal. Caleigh Forti made 13 saves and allowed seven goals in the win.
At Colgate 16, Le Moyne 3 (BOX SCORE): The Raiders held Le Moyne scoreless through the first half, building a 9-0 lead by the break to cruise to a 16-3 victory on Wednesday. Caroline Panzirer recorded a team-high six points on five goals and one assist, while Aubrey McMahon added four goals and an assist to help Colgate improve to 3-2. Colgate caused 14 turnovers, led by Meg Cole and Nelle Kniffen, who finished with three apiece.
No. 19 Navy 14, No. 11 Virginia 12 (BOX SCORE): Navy scored the last five goals of the game, holding UVA scoreless through the fourth quarter in a 14-12 upset-win on Wednesday. Emily Messinese posted six points on three goals and three assists to go with seven draw controls. Emma Kennedy scored a team-high five goals for Navy’s second win over a nationally ranked opponent this season.
At Boston University 17, Merrimack 6 (BOX SCORE): Eight different players scored goals in Boston University’s 17-6 victory over Merrimack on Wednesday. Jayne Feeney finished with a team-high four goals, while Izabella Amonte and Tessa Geddes each totaled four points on three goals and one assist. Natalie Aiosa made six saves in nearly 55 minutes.
At Lafayette 13, Wagner 9 (BOX SCORE): The Leopards outscored the Seahawks 10-3 after halftime to earn a 13-9 victory and improve to 3-1. Haleigh Albrecht, Kristin Igneri and Sophia Spallone scored three goals apiece for the Leopards. Emma Elmen recorded one goal and three assists and Molly Terraciano made 17 saves in the win.
 
Loyola Maryland, Army West Point and Navy Ranked in the KANE Women’s DI Media Poll
Three Patriot League women’s lacrosse teams are ranked in the 2025 KANE Women’s Division I Media Poll after the third week of the 2025 season. Loyola Maryland climbed to No. 15. Army West Point moved up two spots to No. 21, while Navy slipped to No. 22.

Three Teams Ranked in the IWLCA Coaches Poll
The Greyhounds are ranked No. 15 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll after the third week of play. Navy slipped to No. 17, while Army West Point entered the poll at No. 25.

Patriot League Players Among NCAA DI Active Career Leaders (as of Feb. 27)
*Army West Point’s Brigid Duffy is the NCAA DI active career leader in points per game (5.00). She is fourth in goals per game (3.36). Duffy ranks 14th in assists per game (1.64).
*Loyola Maryland’s Georgia Latch is eighth on the NCAA DI points per game list (4.14) while ranking second among active leaders in career points with 286. Latch is ninth in assists per game (1.93) and fifth with 133 career assists.
*Holy Cross’ Isabela Miller ranks 12th on the NCAA DI active leaders list with 1.72 assists per game. Her 93 assists are 12th among active leaders.
*Loyola Maryland’s Chase Boyle is fourth among NCAA DI active leaders with 182 goals and third with 311 draw controls.
*Navy’s Emily Messinese is 12th on the NCAA DI active leaders list with 2.90 goals per game
*Navy’s Alyssa Daley ranks fourth among NCAA DI active leaders with 307 draw controls and fifth with 7.49 draw controls per game.
*Loyola Maryland’s Lauren Spence is fourth among active leaders with an 8.11 goals-against average.
*Bucknell junior defender Jess Leon is second on the NCAA DI active leaders list with 2.75 caused turnovers per game.
 
Patriot League Student-Athletes Climbing in League Record Book
*Loyola Maryland’s Georgia Latch is tied with former Greyhound Hannah Powers for seventh on the Patriot League career assists list with 133. She ranks No. 12 in career points (286) and No. 34 in goals (153)
*Loyola Maryland’s Chase Boyle checks in at No. 17 among the Patriot League goals leaders with 182 goals and No. 7 with 311 draw controls. Boyle set a League single-season record with 208 draw controls and tied for the second-best goal-scoring season in League history with 85 in 2024.
*Four players have eclipsed 100 career goals to rank among the League’s leaders: Navy’s Emily Messinese (42nd, 139), Army West Point’s Brigid Duffy (46th, 131), Bucknell’s Allie Boyce (52nd, 125) and Navy’s Tori DiCarlo (87th, 102).
 
Army West Point’s Duffy Becomes Program’s Career Points Leader
Army West Point midfielder Brigid Duffy recorded seven points on four goals and three assists in the Black Knights’ 16-6 victory over Marist on Feb. 19 to become the program’s career leader in points. Duffy eclipsed two-time All-Patriot League honoree Kathleen Sullivan, who compiled 181 points from 2020 through 2023. Duffy currently leads the Patriot League and ranked fourth in NCAA DI with 6.33 points per game.
 
Eleven Patriot League Student-Athletes Earn USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America Honors
USA Lacrosse Magazine introduced its NCAA DI Women’s Preseason All-America honorees in January, with Loyola Maryland’s Chase Boyle and Army West Point’s Brigid Duffy receiving first-team honors. Greyhounds’ Georgia Latch, Navy’s Alyssa Daley and Emily Messinese earned a spot on the second team. Loyola Maryland’s Lily Osborne claimed third-team honors, while teammate Lauren Spence, Holy Cross’ Ella Kittredge and Isabela Miller, and Navy’s Tori DiCarlo and Ava Yovino received honorable mentions.

Six Patriot Leaguers Claim 2025 Nike Lacrosse Preseason Women’s DI All-Americans
Six Patriot League women’s lacrosse players collected 2025 Nike Lacrosse Preseason Women’s DI All-America honors. Boyle and Duffy received First-Team All-America accolades from the second publication of the preseason. Navy’s Daley and Loyola Maryland’s Osborne earned spots on the second team, and Latch and Messinese collected third-team honors.

Patriot Women’s Lacrosse on CBS Sports Network
The 2025 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game will be aired on Saturday, May 3, with live coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The regular-season rematch of the 2024 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game featuring Loyola Maryland at Navy is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, beginning at 6 p.m.
