LEWISBURG, Pa. – Loyola Maryland shot an 8-over par 288 in a windy final round to edge Holy Cross by one stroke, claiming their second straight Patriot League Men’s Golf title with a 54-hole score of 9-over par 849 at the par-70, 6,224-yard Bucknell Golf Club.
The Greyhounds battled atop the leaderboard with Holy Cross and Army West Point through the final two rounds, finishing one stroke in front of the Crusaders in Sunday’s third round to capture the program’s seventh League crown. The Crusaders turned in a team score of 10-over par 850 to finish second, while the Black Knights shot 14-over par 854 through the three-day championship.
Holy Cross senior Nolan Schuermann won the individual title, taking the first playoff hole against Lafayette senior Quint Dingledine to become the Crusaders’ first individual League champion since 2007. Schuermann and Dingledine shot 1-over par 71 in the final round to tie at 2-under par 208. Loyola Maryland junior Gustavo Rangel shot a 1-under par 209 to finish third, joining Schuermann and Dingledine on the All-Patriot League First Team.
Host Bucknell and Colgate tied for fourth place at 15-over par 855. Bison freshman Jack Hartman tied for fourth place at even-par 210 to earn First Team All-Patriot League and Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors. The Raiders turned in Sunday’s best round at 5-over par 285, while senior Robbie Herzig and sophomore Leo Li tied for fourth at even-par 210 to earn first-team All-League accolades.
Army West Point senior John Heckel Jr. was voted Patriot League Most Outstanding Player of the Year by the League’s coaches for his performance during the 2024-25 season.
Crusaders’ head coach Steve Napoli earned Patriot League Coach of the Year after guiding Holy Cross to its best finish in a Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship in program history.
Loyola Maryland and Holy Cross’ Nolan Schuermann will learn their NCAA Regionals destination during the 2025 NCAA DI Men’s Golf Selection Show on GOLF Channel on Wednesday, April 30 at 1 p.m. ET. The NCAA Regionals will be held May 12-14 at six sites around the country, including Auburn, Ala., Tallahassee, Fla., Urbana, Ill., Reno, Nev., Amherst, Va. and Bremerton, Wash. The NCAA Championship is scheduled for May 23-28 in Carlsbad, Calif.
