BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University collected two of the five Patriot League women’s soccer weekly awards presented by PenFed Credit Union, when the League office announced the honors on Monday. Bucknell, Holy Cross and Loyola Maryland each received one weekly award.
Bucknell sophomore forward Katie Connell collected Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after recording five points on two goals and one assist last week, helping the Bison go 1-0-1.
Boston University senior midfielder Mackenzie Stickelman earned Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week after scoring a goal in the Terriers’ 2-2 draw at UMass Lowell.
Loyola Maryland senior Zoe Willis garnered Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Greyhounds to a shutout of Hofstra on Saturday.
For the second consecutive week, Holy Cross freshman Aubrey Haesche was named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after recording a career-high nine saves in a 1-0 shutout over Maine.
Boston University midfielder Georgia Prouty scored her second goal of the season to receive Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week honors.
Honorable mentions went to American senior midfielder Avery Klingensmith, Colgate first-year midfielder Lydia Thornton, Bucknell senior defender Reilly Traynor, Holy Cross freshman midfielder Cara Bubonovich, fifth-year midfielder Sam Halligan and junior defender Mary Sommer, Lafayette junior midfielder Nadia Zaffanella, Loyola Maryland junior goalkeeper Hannah Goetzer and Navy senior forward Marlee Heaven for their performances last week.
The Patriot League women’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Connell scored critical goals in both games last week to help Bucknell go 1-0-1 on a Western Pennsylvania road trip.
*In Thursday’s 4-1 victory at Saint Francis, the sophomore scored the game’s opening goal in the 45th minute and added an assist on a goal in the 50th minute.
*Connell returned on Sunday with the game-tying goal in the 70th minute to lift the Bison to a 1-1 draw at Pittsburgh.

*Willis played all 90 minutes on Sunday, helping Loyola Maryland to its second shutout of the season following a 0-0 draw at Hofstra.
*The senior led a Greyhounds’ defense that limited the Pride to six shots.

*Haesche collected Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second straight time after recording a career-high nine saves and her second shutout in a 1-0 victory over Maine.
*The freshman leads the Patriot League in saves per game (4.67), ranks second in save percentage (.903), goals-against average (0.58) and shutouts (2), and is third in saves (28).

*Klingensmith scored American’s only goal of the week, tallying the equalizer in the 62nd minute to help the Eagles to a 1-1 draw with UMBC. The senior played 90 minutes in both contests against No. 10 South Carolina and the Retrievers.

*Thorton scored her first collegiate goal in the 74th minute of Colgate’s 3-2 loss at Binghamton on Sunday and played 30 minutes in a 0-0 draw at Boston College on Thursday.

*Traynor had two strong performances in Bucknell’s 1-0-1 week, logging 83 minutes in a 4-1 win at Saint Francis on Thursday before playing all 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw at Pittsburgh on Sunday.
