BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Army West Point freshman Jimin Jung and Navy sophomore Peyton Amspacher-Philemon earned Patriot League Tennis Player of the Week honors when the League announced awards on Tuesday.
Jung captured Patriot League Men’s Player of the Week recognition after earning two No. 2 singles victories in Army West Point’s 4-1 wins over Binghamton and Fairfield.
Amspacher-Philemon was named Patriot League Women’s Player of the Week after posting a 3-0 weekend to help Navy split its Saturday doubleheader against Mount St. Mary’s and Liberty.
Lehigh junior Giselle Vlassis, Bucknell junior Jaycie Mair, Boston University junior Nancy Liu, Army West Point’s Stacey Samonte, Bucknell senior Oscar Bain and Loyola Maryland freshman Petter Hagen earned honorable mention recognition.
Men’s Player of the Week
Jimin Jung, Army West Point, Fr., Cary, N.C./Green Hope
*Jung earned two No. 2 singles victories in Army West Point’s 4-1 wins over Binghamton and Fairfield, including a three-set win (7-5, 1-6, 6-2) against Filipe Costa.
*The freshman added a straight-set 6-0, 7-5 win over Fairfield’s Calum Jessett to remain unbeaten in singles on the weekend.
Women’s Player of the Week
Peyton Amspacher-Philemon, Navy, So., Wilmington, N.C./New Hanover
*Amspacher-Philemon posted a 3-0 weekend to help Navy split its Saturday doubleheader, highlighted by a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against Mount St. Mary’s.
*The sophomore teamed with Anna Jordan for a 6-2 victory over Liberty’s No. 2 doubles pair to open the weekend.
*Amspacher-Philemon later added a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles alongside Ji Soo Oh, improving to 3-0 in singles and 5-0 in doubles dual action this spring.

Giselle Vlassis, Lehigh, Jr., Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy
Vlassis went 1-1 in singles, highlighted by a 6-3, 7-6 win over FDU’s Yelena Kim on court three, and teamed with Maggie Forkner for two No. 2 doubles victories to help Lehigh secure the doubles point in both matches.
Jaycie Mair, Bucknell, Jr., Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic
Mair earned a clinching singles victory in Bucknell’s win over Mercyhurst, winning at court four, 6-2, 6-1, after also posting a 6-1 doubles win alongside Mirra Manolov; the Bison went 1-1 on the weekend.
Nancy Liu, Boston University, Jr., Inner Mongolia, China
Liu went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles during a 1-1 weekend for BU, clinching both the doubles point and team victory against Colgate while also earning a straight-set win at flight one against Syracuse.
Stacey Samonte, Army West Point, Whittier, Calif./California
Samonte went 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles as Army West Point posted a 3-0 weekend, highlighted by straight-set singles victories over FDU and Fairfield.
Oscar Bain, Bucknell, Sr., Ottobrun, Germany/ES International School
Bain compiled a perfect 3-0 weekend in Bucknell’s wins over Temple and Mercyhurst, earning two straight-set singles victories and clinching the match against the Owls while adding a doubles win against Mercyhurst.
Petter Hagen, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Santa Ponsa, Spain/Emilio Sanchez Barcelona
Hagen scored Loyola Maryland’s lone point against Delaware with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-4, (10-5) win at No. 5 singles.
