BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point sophomore Tyson Sparks and Bucknell sophomore Sophia Bardunias received Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Week, respectively, when the League office announced honors on Wednesday.
Sparks captured Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week honors after shooting a 1-over par 217 (77-72-68) to finish 19th out of 93 competitors at the Dorado Beach Collegiate at the par-72 TPC Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico.
Bardunias earned Patriot League Women’s Golfers of the Week for the second time this season after finishing third out of 69 golfers at the El Campeon Collegiate at Mission Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. She shot a 17-over-par 233 (79-78-76) to help the Bison place third out of 11 teams.
Colgate sophomore Jayden Freeman and Navy senior Chip Deegan and junior Emma Tang received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
Patriot League Men’s Golfers of the Week
Tyson Sparks, Army West Point, So., Muskego, Wis./eAchieve Academy
*Sparks shot a 1-over par 217 (77-72-68) to finish 19th out of 93 competitors at the Dorado Beach Collegiate at the par-72 TPC Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico.
*The sophomore’s 4-under par 68 final round ranks ninth lowest round in Black Knights’ program history.

Sophia Bardunias, Bucknell, So., San Ramon, Calif./Monte Vista
*Bardunias finished third out of 69 competitors at the El Campeon Collegiate at the par-72 Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla., carding a 17-over par 233 (79-78-76) in windy and cool playing conditions.
*She recorded her fifth top-10 performance in six events this season and helped the Bison place third in a field that included Patriot League rivals Lehigh and Navy.

*Freeman shot a 5-over par 108 (80-71-70) to finish tied for seventh of 108 golfers at the Savannah Invitational at the par-72 Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga.
Chip Deegan, Navy, Sr., Newport Beach, Calif./Servite
Deegan led the Mids at the Watersound Invitational where he shot an even-par 210 (67-70-73) to place 29th out of 78 golfers. He opened with a team-low 3-under par 67, before shooting par in the second round and closing out with a 3-over par 73 in the final round.
Emma Tang, Navy, Jr., Chino Hills, Calif./Chino Hills
*Tang shot a 21-over par 237 (75-80-82) to finish fifth out of 69 golfers at the El Campeon Collegiate at the par-72 Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. She helped Navy tie for fourth out of 11 teams.
