2026 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse First-Round Preview: Championship Begins Sunday (4.25.26)

No. 3 Loyola Maryland hosts No. 6 Boston University; No. 4 Bucknell welcomes No. 5 Holy Cross

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 2026 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship begins with first-round action on Sunday, April 26. No. 3 Loyola Maryland hosts No. 6 Boston University at noon before No. 4 Bucknell welcomes No. 5 Holy Cross at 1 p.m. Both games will be available live on ESPN+.
 
Head coach Jen Adams and the third-seeded Greyhounds have advanced to the Patriot League Championship Game each season since joining the League in the 2013-14 season. They will meet the fourth-seeded Terriers, as head coach Lauren Morton guided BU back to the six-team field for the first time since 2023. The Greyhounds downed the Terriers during the regular season, 13-8, on March 21.
 
Bucknell and head coach Jackie Dando earned a spot in the championship for the first time since 2017 and will host a game during the championship for the first time in program history. They welcome the fifth-seeded Holy Cross and head coach Amanda Belichick, who earned a spot in the championship for the fourth straight season. The Bison edged the Crusaders, 12-11, on April 4 in their regular season contest.
 
The lowest-remaining seed to advance through the first round will travel to Annapolis to take on top-seeded Navy on Thursday, April 30, at 3 p.m. to open the semifinal round of the Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The No. 2 Black Knights will take on the highest-remaining seed, with the opening draw scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
The 2026 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, with live coverage on CBS Sports Network beginning at 3:30 p.m. Jason Knapp and Rachael DeCecco will be on the call for the nationally televised championship game. Paige Messier will report from the sideline.

BALTIMORE – Loyola Maryland’s Emma Talago scored a game-high four goals and dished out two assists and Mim Suares-Jury posted seven points on two goals and five assists to lead the Greyhounds to a 13-8 win over Boston University. The Greyhounds’ Mae Murphy finished with 15 draw controls. Boston University’s Tessa Geddes posted a team-high three goals and Karina Harrison added two goals.

WORCESTER, Mass – Bucknell’s Megan Krestinski scored the final two goals, including the game-winner with 2:12 left in regulation to lead the Bison to a 12-11 win over Holy Cross. Krestinski finished with three goals and one assist, while Caleigh Cummiskey added six points on four goals and two assists. Tory Rider led the Crusaders with five goals, while Racheli Levy-Smith added 16 draw controls.
